After a good fast last Friday I had a bit of a blow out yesterday all alone at home and enjoyed it TGFFD....Thank god for fast days!
I'm getting back to all my different workouts and it feels really good to get my body back after my 6W post op break. Now that my bike is serviced and my back seems to be getting better, I'm planning on riding it to work on Monday.
Just 2-3 more days of work and then I have 2.5 weeks to do what ever I please
Enjoy your Sunday!0 -
My tip of the day for anyone looking for exercise inspiration.....do something you think is fun and do it in place you love.
My gym for the day!
Moved my rebounding / yoga / push up session outside under a linden tree as it was too warm inside. Cardio / strength / meditation / fresh air all in one!! So glad one of my mfp friends inspired me into rebounding! I improvised my moves, a combination of Arnita Champion and Faith Payne Bellicon videos...to be found on YouTube. Also added the Sun greeting from Yoga, 4*15 push ups and some TaiChi stretching. 80 wonderful minutes!

Love the outside exercise tip - wonderful! I used to do my yoga outside, maybe I will follow your lead . . .0

So I don't exercise as my health won't allow it, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the great outdoors.
Flask, dog, binoculars, and a good audiobook. The "Thank You Nature" sign was because I was putting in entries for a competition to win a camera.... and pictures had to include that sign.
But this is where I hang out most days for a few hours. Keeps me sane with having to be so physically inactive.
Actually I submitted quite a few entries to that competition... and ended up winning a Panasonic GX7 camera with this picture:

First fast day of the week went well. Clocked in around 600 with a 550 cal burn on my bike. Was pretty hungry this morning. ....
Another bike to work day today. Have an awesome sunny day!0 -
Ah hello lovely peeps!
I had a reasonable fast day on Monday - tin of sardines for lunch, which keeps my calcium intake good. And then a leftover enchilada for dinner - I was hungry cos I'd just come in from a 5 mile training session. I'm doing the Belfast half-marathon in September, so I'll have to fit in a few more long runs. Now, these are tough on fast days, I'll admit.
My greatest find recently has been buckwheat - boil it as a low cal, higher protein alternative to rice, or roast/ toast it and mix with nuts and stuff for a granola. The granola maybe not on a fast day, I had some this morning with Skyr yoghurt as a day-after-a-fast-day healthy breakfast.0 -
Hi everyone.
I've not posted on these weekly post threads before, but I did get some helpful advice in a post I put up when I first joined.
My success story for the week so far is how well I got on with a specialist book from Amazon for vegetarians who are doing 5:2.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Skinny-Fast-Vegetarian-Meals-Cooknation/dp/0957644752/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1437532609&sr=8-1&keywords=the+skinny+vegetarian+meals+for+one
I've also started a blog about doing 5:2 as a veggie. Having fun with that.
Was at my local community garden yesterday and it was time to do a wee mini harvest so I got to take some goodies home. Yay!

Second fast today went well, with a bit of a calculated overage....coffee with friends after my morning swim in the Rhein with friends. So all is good
Have a great day everyone!0 -
Better check in. Fast day #2 this week and I'm at 580 calories. I'm still hungry but I ate gelato again yesterday. You'd think I'd learn. I'm doing 4:3 this week because I've eaten over my calories each NFD this week. Off to run in the morning.0

Yeah kg...summer and gelato. ..hard to beat.... been enjoying it too much in our heatwave0

Hello everyone! I'm back from one week of vacation. Weighed myself this morning, gained 3.8lbs. Should not be too upset it was almost like a ethnic food festival. My first fast day today, please wish m luck!0
-
Great choice on the pic. @orlcam did you change it? Very cool!
Still lurking around at times, staying around that 25 lb lost area for now, getting in some fasting when I can. Looking to start again full time in August...we shall see.
For those of you who don't know...I'll change the group banner from time to time, using images that users upload to the forum. If I happen to miss a good one, then please feel free to send me a message pointing me in the right direction.

LOL That gave me a surprise logging on just now! Thank you for sharing my hippy feet!
Also just reporting in... was away this week so missed my Tuesday fast & just ate normally. Didn't gain weight despite the lovely food on offer. (I skipped all the sweet stuff... I have less of a sweet tooth now, anyone else find this??)
Should be on a fast day today, but think I'll eat a little more as heath has had a little relapse and for a couple of days I think I'll just need to go easy on myself....0 -
This is my first post in this thread. My behavior on fast days has been good. I have stayed at 519 which is my 1/4 tdee amount. Although yesterday was a huge mental challenge. I could not stop thinking about food. That was a first but I did not give in. My weight has been ping ponging this month. Lose 2 one week gain 1 next week and lose 2 again so a net loss overall. I'm trying to remain patient. I have lost an inch off my waist. Anyone else experienced the up down cycle on the scale despite their good adherence to the plan.0
-
Yup, waddling... I'm more or less in maintainance, but while losing regularly, my losses were very cycle dependent. I would lose well 2 weeks a month and almost nothing the other two. 5:2 isn't a quick method, so just keep chuggin'. A net loss is a net loss!!0
