I don't know anything about it, except that we sprinkle it around the perimeter of our house to kill ants. When they march across the border, it takes 'em at the knees.

I wasn't aware they made food grade DE.

I never heard of it before either until lady at the store told me about. Im going to try it and see if I feel any benefits. Also will use on my dog to keep any bugs away, internally and externally :)

Interesting..I've used the regular stuff in a bag from garden shop to keep bus off, and dusted in the dog's coat to destroy same.

it works by acting like micro "knives" the sharp tiny particles slice up any insect like being in a bladed grinder..so is too small to harm organs or animals/humans upon touch

There are 2 types, Pool Grade DE and Food Grade DE, stay away from Pool one as its toxic, I don't know which one the garden section has but just be aware

We all use food grade DE here. The dogs get it in wet food, we (husband, two kids and myself) use it mixed in with a bit of mushy stuff (applesauce, yogurt, etc), and we also sprinkle it all over in the chicken coop to keep mites away. My son had a recurring case of pinworm that we could not get rid of despite giving him all of the nasty pills that are supposed to work amazing. DE has rid him of pinworm or at least stopped the outbreaks from reoccuring, so we all take it as preventative measures.

Not sure I could put that in my mouth, it sounds a little frightening. Could the small sharp particles penitrate ones bowel?

I'll try this "DE." Reading these threads can almost make me wary of LC sometimes because of all the different supplements we talk about. Dr had me on so many pills some while back that I shudder to think. So I look for the supps that seem to address more deficiencies or problems. I'll buy one package and try it out. Also have ALA on my list, but adding one at a time so I can tell if it makes a real difference.

I have read that it can be used to purge aluminum. There jury is still out whether there is a link between aluminum and Alzheimer's disease.

From what I read it's a good detox as well, there are a lot of discussion boards about the DE and people experiences with it if you google it.
