I was 4.5 lbs away and a month away from my goal I set of losing 100 lbs in one year. I hit it today.
Details:
I fast every Thursday (skip a day of eating). On Thursday morning I weighed in and I was only 1/2 lb above what I weighed in on last Friday (my official weigh-in day). I was excited with that, because I usually lose anywhere between 1-6 lbs after my fast. Usually I gain several lbs back after the fast during the next week, then lose all that I gained and a couple extra pounds under the previous week.
So I knew it was going to be a good day when I weighed in on Friday and it was, I lost 4.5 Lbs. Which I now weigh exactly 214. I set the balance beam to zero to verify that the scale was measuring right, then I re-weighed myself to confirm.
My start weight for the diet was 314 on August 31st, 2014. So I beat my goal by one whole month.
I think I have figured out the fasting thing. The key is not eating too much on the break fast day. Using my Ketonix, I notice that fasting will keep the ketone burning level very high for the following day, even though you have started eating again.
So, here are the stats:
I want to thank everyone that has helped me on this great way of eating! An especially God for helping me find this WOE...

I think your stats are perfect. What a relief it is to reach your goal early especially as you have the China trip coming up. If it were me, I would lose there too because I am not very adventurous where food is concerned. I need to know what I am eating.
You inspired me to renew my passport. I have an appointment next week.0 -

you are a constant motivation. I stopped the fasting and just decided to go back today reading you post. I have had only 6 pounds to goal since March. I am going to at least see the number....

Out of curiosity, when do you break your Thursday fast?
On Friday, usually around 1-2:00. I eat lunch with my co-workers. So its a 36ish to 40ish hour fast.

Well, the China thing will be getting in the way. So I will start the actual planning after I get back. I should get back late August. Probably have in September.
I am going to invite all the people in my life that I had intimate discussion with over being morbidly obese. Mostly people in my church. People that I have told that I was so damn hungry all the time and there was something drastically wrong with me. People that, although they wished well for me, never had a workable solution for me. I say "workable" because all of them gave me advice, but it always involved low fat diet and exercise. Never missing breakfast (you know- the MOST important meal of the day---NOT!) And trim fat off your steak. Hey! Don't salt your food so heavily! <---- that's the advice they gave me. But to their credit, they did pray to God on my behalf to help me, that worked! God led me to find this way of eating and the rest is HIStory.
Sorry, I get distracted easily.
I will invite everyone on this list, because you are part of the answer to my prayers. I realize probably no one will come, but it would be cool if one person came. There are a few local people on this discussion group.
