I had a good week overall - I'm down 1.8 lbs this week! I think some of it might be water loss because I was *sick* last night after eating raspberries in my salad. Apparently, I'm allergic to them or something. It's very weird because it just started out of the blue a few months ago - I never had a problem with them before that. It's awful - worst cramps and pain I've ever had and it takes hours to go away. I thought I'd be ok because it was only a handful - maybe 6 or 8 berries - and the last time it happened, I'd eaten a half cup... Nope! I'm never eating another raspberry ever!

Did you get that skirt out Debbie?

lol no didn't get it out thought about it. Instead of being allergic I wonder if the raspberries had been sprayed with something. I lost 2.2 so i will take it.

2.2 is pretty nice! :) Congrats! You must've found some motivation even without the skirt. ;)

I gained .6 of my 1.8 back this morning :( (my daily weigh-in's y'know...) - but I ate a bunch of salty pretzels yesterday, so I'm hoping that's all it is.

I thought about it being something on the raspberries at first too, but it's happened 3 separate times now since March or April - and the raspberries were from three different places. And so far, it's only happened with raspberries and not any other fruit - thank goodness!

Maybe you are right? Have you had any problems with any other berries? So far the week is going well.

Hi ladies! Sorry about the radio silence but I went on a extremely long vacation (in fact I'm still on it)!

My brother-in-law got married in Las Vegas, NV two Saturdays ago, and my sister is getting married this Saturday near Las Vegas, NM (yes there are more than one Las Vegas and no, the NM is nothing like the NV one!). So instead of doing two mini vacations, one week apart, we decided to turn it all into one big road trip. Luckily my boss is super cool so I am about 2/3'rds of the way thru it right now.

So I have some WINS to share. While in Vegas, i worked out 3 out of the 4 days we were there. I was stoked to see a kettleball set but equally as bummed to discover that there was no wifi or cell phone coverage in the gym itself so I couldn't try out that DB kettleball workout I've been dying to try. So I ended up just doing some stuff from memory.

Once we left Vegas, we visited Zion National Park for a couple days. I successfully conquered Angel's Landing which really put my fear of heights to the test. We did a lot of hiking that day but I also did a lot of eating too.

Since then, we have been in Colorado visiting my mom, and are currently in New Mexico. Today we went to Carlsbad Caverns and overnighting in Roswell. The UFO Museum will be visited tomorrow before we head up to where my sister is getting married. Once that is done, we will be headed back west and spend another two nights in the real Las Vegas (downtown this time) before heading home.

I actually brought my scale with me but I haven't been weighing myself that often. The last time I weighed in was in Colorado, I was only up 1.8 pounds but I think once we hit NM, I'm sure to have gained a lot more than that. I have been pigging out on that delicious New Mexican style of Mexican food which includes sopapillas! Good thing I didn't officially turn in my 220# card!

I'll checkin again soon... I promise and once I get back home, I'm getting back to work! But until then, you're doing a great job creating the new threads Kristine! And keep up the great progress! Can I have your raspberries Kristine?? That's sad that you are reacing that way to them... kinda wierd huh?

Hey Scott! I'm so glad you are having what sounds like an awesome vacation! I was beginning to worry and concoct a conspiracy theory where someone was tracking down our group members and making them disappear - Lol! You might be surprised when you get back and weigh-in. I know you said your calories were up, but it sounds like you were getting some good workouts in too. In any case, vacations are meant to be enjoyed, so I think you have a great attitude towards it!

I've been to Zion National Park. For about 12 hours - from 7pm to 7am - lol! We had stayed at the Bar 10 Ranch on the North Rim of Grand Canyon, and drove back out from there to a hotel at the entrance of Zion Nat'l Park with the intention of doing a little hiking there. But we got there too late in the day, and we were all exhausted - so we pretty much just ended up eating dinner and heading to bed. The next morning, we had to head back to Vegas to catch our flight home. The entrance looked beautiful though! I hope to get back there someday...

Feel free to eat all my share of the world's raspberries! I'll never eat them again. Debbie - I have not encountered any other berries that cause me a problem yet, thank goodness. It's just weird that it started out of the blue like that.

I too have been to Zion but it was also too late in the day. Don't worry about the scale you are working out , that is great. We spread my dads ashes finally at the top of Sonora's pass last week. Took two years to finally get our schedule together. I am up a pound. My summer vacation is whining down go back to work Aug.13. During the year I am more organized but do miss my time every morning working in the yard.

Zion was really cool so if you get a chance, I highly recommend doing Angels Landing and the Narrows. The first half day (later half since we left Vegas around noon), we got on the tram shuttle bus and got off at each stop and explored a bit and then caught the next one. We were able to see quite a bit of the park like that. The following full day is when we did Angels Landing and the Narrows.

Good to hear you were able to get up on top of Sonora pass and scatter some ashes Debbie... isn't it amazing how much it takes to get a few schedules to line up these days?

Zion was interesting but not my kind of place. Glad I went there.
