Anyone following the diet plan?

Hi all! I'm new to the group, and I'm on week 1, day 4. I was wondering if anyone is following the diet plan that came with the program. I am following the 7 day Kickstart this week and today I feel really light-headed, so I must be really detoxing from carbs and sugar. I plan on following her diet plan and I also ordered her Master Your Metabolism cookbook. MFP gives me 1200 calories, and Jillian gives the same. Would you eat back the calories you burn during the workouts or not log them since Jillian only gives 1200 kcal per day? Just curious what others are doing, as I have about 30 lbs to lose. Thanks in advance!

@kmhaley81 I never eat back calories but I'm also not following the meal plan. If I were maintaining, then yes, I would eat back the calories. But, like you, I am trying to lose weight so that's my reason for not doing so.

Are the recipes easy to follow? I struggle with these sort of diet plans as I end up spending way too much on the ingredients.

@sevans85mfp Have you considered starting with one meal and moving forward from there? If you tend to skip breakfast, maybe take the time to look over the meal plans and start with the breakfast suggestions. Then look over the recipes and see if you can find any overlap. For instance, on page 15 both recipes use Greek yogurt and fresh fruit and honey. Then on pages 18 and 19 there are recipes for muffins. You can pick one muffin recipe to try and alternate the three breakfasts throughout the week, with your seventh day being maybe an omelet or something else from the meal plan.

Think about where you may need the most improvement. For some, it may be that they skip breakfast, as in my example above. Others may find that they are most challenged during lunch because they are busy at work or whatever and fast food is easier than trying to think about what to have that's healthy. So pick the meal that you find the most challenging and then find two or three recipes that work for you and share ingredients. And most of the recipes make more than one serving so keep that in mind too. You'll have plenty of leftovers so you won't be cooking each and every day.

@jenstanley13 I'm sure if you google it, you can find it online. If not, you could see if your local library has her cookbook or one of her books that has a diet plan in it. Almost all of her books include recipes and meal plans. And practically every public library has multiple copies of her books on hand.

The diet plan is horrible! & Most people should not be eating such low calories (1200) without consulting a physician. There are a few meals that I found tasty but I am not currently (or ever for that matter) stuck to this diet plan 100%.
