Marla - Yay! I'm soooooo incredibly excited for you to be done with all of this moving around and to finally have a place to settle! Fantastic! At least the busyness that you will experience now is the satisfaction of creating a new home! Phew!
Laura - I remember Minnesota summers well. I grew up there. We moved to Phoenix just over 10 years ago. What's funny is when we moved here, on certain weeks people would talk about how humid it is and I wouldn't notice a thing. Well, this week I was feeling how muggy it's been down here and I checked it. 25% humidity. Sheesh. But down here we get used to the fact that it may be hot, but you stand in the shade and it will be 20 degrees cooler, and in the evenings the temp drops dramatically. So overall, I still prefer summers here.
So, it's been a long spring and summer of random illness, injuries, and travel so I couldn't get consistent training in. Last week was my first week I was able to train consistently and this week is starting well. Only now I'm in those second week doldrums where I feel tired a lot because my body is still adjusting to the new activity levels. Phew. I was going to go for a bike ride this morning. but hubby was home last night (which he normally isn't) and has a break from school for the next two weeks. Having not spent much time together in weeks, we have a little date night after we put the kids to bed. So I decided getting enough sleep would be more important. My bike is all set to ride though, so I'm going to go this evening after I put the kids to bed.. i did my run in the morning, 3 miles. Then I got the kids ready and out the door for their first day of school. Which was successful. Then I went to the Y ALL BY MYSELF! It's amazing to just get our of the car, and walk in. No chasing kids, no listening to crying or yelling, no meandering or wandering. After the Y I stopped by my house before going to pick up my youngest from preschool. But then my care wouldn't start. The battery connections were corroded (happens a lot down here due to the heat). I used baking soda and water to rinse it off...only to discover it was so corroded that the cable connecting to the battery was no more. So I couldn't start my car but needed to get my son. I finally managed to jam the broken bit against the connector and get it started...got my son...and my car died a block away. After 10 minutes of wrestling, got it started again. It was 105 today so it was hot! I was pouring sweat, and had given my son my gatorade to drink so he wouldn't get dehydrated. Exciting day. Oldest had her first piano lesson as well. I dropped her off and then went grocery shopping. I got some peanut butter powder that I'm excited to try in my overnight oats.
Staff meeting this morning and headed to Costco this afternoon. (which I couldn't go to yesterday due to broken Van...which hubby nicely fixed for me). Hope you all have a great day!0 -
Hi all, we are waiting to see house again at 2:30pm then going home. I wish i could get my fears of smoke gone. The air level is yellow on hwy home, not bad but hubby got angry this mornng at my asking to drive many hours more to go around and maybe still have smoke in the next hwy. i know its nuts. I called hwy patrol and they told me i was safe in car and to just get a mask which i did.
I am not leavng again until after rains come and smoke is gone. I think all the unsettledness has recked havoc on my nerves!
We are going for walk on beach while we wait, having tea now. Hoping a beach walk will calm me. God i must sound nuts!!
