3 Day Juicer's Cleanse

I know these types of fad diets and all that are frowned upon on MFP, but I've been at a plateau for the last 3 weeks, even while eating 80 - 90% clean and exercising, and have to do something to jumpstart things again. It's a 3 day juice "cleanse" (read: short term diet) where you make a huge batch of fruit/veggie juice, new recipe each day, and eat some protein and veggies for a meal or split it up for a couple of meals.

Anyway, I saw in this week's weigh-in topic that a lot of other people are struggling so figured I'd post it up. The gal sent me more specific directions that I'd be happy to forward to people.

And please no criticism... if you aren't interested, that's totally respectable and fine. These types of things just work for my body and keep me motivated. I'm finishing up my first day today. Hopefully it moves things along on that scale! ;)

I need this. I have been struggling to keep losing. I'm up and down 2-4 pounds in the same week all the time, soooo frustrating!

I've done one before and liked it. I've never done one longer than 3 days and don't think I ever would, I think the long term ones are more dangerous but can be done with medical supervision. I might be interested in a couple of weeks, but can't do it right now. I don't have a juicer but have a good blender, so I usually decrease the amount and do more "smoothies" than juice :)

Good luck! Hope you get good results

This actually works! I've tried it before, but your weight might go back up after the cleanse, just a heads up. It does help you jump start your plateau though. I used it more for a cleanse then a shed, cleaning and detoxing your body is great, helps prevents cancer, to a certain degree. Anyway good luck!

I did something similar when I started my weightloss journey a few months back. I made veggie and fruit juices (80% /20%) for breakfast and dinner and had a healthy lunch. I usually made myself a huge sallad with very little chicken or fish. I did this for about 3 weeks and lost a lot of weight but this was at the beginning of my weightloss.

Whether you juice for 3 days or longer the weight you lose will come back when you start eating solids again. Juicing just cleanses the body it doesn't really help weight loss.

I've done the Dr Oz 3 day cleanse in the past. I did lose a few pounds, but mostly it helped me get off all the sugar, saturated fatty foods and alcohol that I had been consuming in excess.

You can find the recipes here:

The lunch smoothie is gross in my opinion but you can google suggestions to make it more palatable (I added cinnamon).

So I am on day two. I dropped 4 pounds of water weight on day one. The recipe for day one tastes good. The recipe for day two, not my favorite, but it's a great colonic. I actually added some low sodium v-8 to it so it tastes much better.

Nice! I did all 3 days. I dropped 2 lbs after day 1, none after day 2, none after day 3. BUT, the next day I dropped another 1.5. Felt a lot better afterward! I made the mistake of trying to blend the greens (esp. the kale) instead of juice them, since they were hard to juice. That made it much worse, I should have just blended. I agree that the taste for day 1 was the best. For day 3, I reduced to 1 ginger thumb instead of 2 since day 2 was overpowered with ginger.

I am cooking up day 3 of the cleanse right now. It looks like it will be good. I am not sure about the Kale, that's the one unknown. I am down 1.5 pounds from yesterday, 5.5 altogether.
Post script: I do not like day three. I added v-8 to it and some salt so I could get it down. If I ever do this again, I will probably just do day one. Idk if it's the ginger or the Kale,
    but it's yuck-y!
