For me it's eating everything slowly, mindfully SITTING DOWN!
My hand was going up to my mouth standing in the kitchen almost automatically more times than I would have dreamt. Becoming more mindful of what and when I eat led me to reduce the volume, and make it easy to accurately log

In the immediate, MONITOR YOUR EATING has been invaluable for me. I was eating relatively healthy food, but I was not consciously aware of just how much food I was eating. In the long run, I think it is invaluable for me to COUNTER THE UNFAIRNESS SYNDROME. Over the last ten years, I have been able to be very disciplined about my eating, but inevitably around the seven or nine month month I would get derailed by feeling angry or discouraged that I couldn't eat like a "normal" person. I am actively working on changing my perception of "normal" so I can stay in this for the long run.0

I agree that sitting down to eat really does make you more mindful of what you are putting in your mouth.0
