Dizziness and excess water

For two days I was eating at someone's house and not monitoring. I ate carbs I have not touched for a month, but not a lot of them, my guess is I was still under 100g. However, my quantity of food intake was much more than I normally eat - lots of roast beef and chicken. I had put on 3 pounds and felt bloated. Yesterday I was back on track - with carb cravings, but kept my intake to 25g.
Last night I had to get up a lot to get rid of excess water, and was also dizzy. Still dizzy this morning and still 3 pounds over. It improved after eating breakfast. By this afternoon I lost 2 pounds [very delayed digestion of the extra food from 2 days ago] but the dizziness came back - and I very rarely get dizzy. I've taken salt, magnesium and electrolytes and my blood pressure is normal.
What might be happening?

How much salt? That's really the only factor. Your blood pressure can be normal, but your blood volume goes down with sodium (and water) loss. The lower blood volume makes it difficult for your body to regulate blood pressure in response to changes -- e.g., when you stand up, exercise, etc.0

are you drinking enough water? sounds like dehydration as well.0

Yeah I drink lots of water - I work out of my house - so it's easy to get hydrated, water, water+psyllium water+vitamins, water+electrolytes, water+water0

How much salt? Your body will dump whatever water you drink to maintain blood sodium concentration to around 140 mg/dl. Eat more salt, you'll retain more water, and your blood volume will increase.0

Do you need the fiber?? That in and of itself can trigger water retention and...bathroom issues. Fat is your fiber when you eat this way.0
-
Yep - I found when I started and cut back carbs and bulk - I needed supplemental fiber - I use plain psylium0

What about potassium? I've had dizziness issues before that was due to potassium also being lost/thrown out of balance (exercise-induced). If you lost too much sodium, you might need to drastically increase your sodium intake and include some potassium to get things balanced again.0

potassium - I'll get some0

The more water you drink, the more salt you need. I doubt you're getting enough salt.0

Listen to these guys, up the salt. It's the only way to push through these side effects of adaptation. Potassium and magnesium are important too, but get your sodium way up above whatever you've been eating and don't be afraid of it. Good luck! It does get easier and so much better!0
