Good morning,
Sorry i didnt get by yesterday the group seems so quiet, and im not sure this thread is being helpful anymore!? I have to admit I have really lost my drive! I have been trying so hard to stay positive during my day i dont have enough energy for any other part of my life! That needs to change!
A few weeks ago i was so close to pushing past my barrier and now i am just no where near there again

I know what you mean about trying to stay positive and don't have energy for yourself. I let myself fall into that trap most recently 3 years ago, and ended up gaining back weigh I'd lost the year before (~60lbs). I've had to make a decision this time: get healthy at the cost of potentially not getting other things done, or keep getting things done and stay unhealthy.
I don't have many of the blood pressure/sugar/cholesterol issues that many others do (good genes I guess because it wasn't my diet); but I'm not capable of doing the things I want to do (go out and climb a hill on vacation, kayak, scuba, etc.) so I am not/wasn't happy. In the end I decided if I wasn't happy, what's all the other junk for?
My approach this time was to always choose my health when it came to decision time.- Eat what other's brought for lunch to make them feel better about themselves, or to be social Eat what I brought for lunch.
- Clean the house Go for a bike ride.
- Work extra to cross more off the list Go home so I can go for a run, sleep, cook healthy, etc.
I always find time to do the things that need to be done (cleaning, work to-dos, etc.); there always seems to be time to knock those out somewhere in the day, but I never seem to have time to work out, cook healthy, etc. By making those my priorities, I got those done first and the rest got done too. I'm not saying that I work as much as I did the previous few years (I don't get paid by the hour and I was giving away too many for free), but what needs to get done does.
Anyway, hope it helps...0 -
@HLaR79 Stay strong. If you need some strength, I'll give you some of mine. No one says you always have to be positive. Maybe you need to take a couple of steps back and tackle little tasks instead of trying to complete the whole picture. You only have one life, so live it the best you can, even while trying to be healthier.
I personally like this discussion line. It's the only place I get to talk about the dreaded hope chest
Every one gets down and tired, but don't let it stop you. Tread water the best you can until you're ready to start swimming again. (((((hugs))))) ~k.0 -
Thanks for the posts everyone. I've been absent a bit. I'm starting a bit of a cleanse. Actually started Wednesday. Nothing of the commercial cleanse, just my own restrictions of no sweets period. No cookies, no candies, no chocolate, no sweetened popcorn, or cereals. Trying for as much "real" food as possible. Trying to make it a week with no desserts and the like. Snacks try to be cheese, fruit, or veggies. Meals per normal relatively.
Two challenges with that is, today work is having a surf and turf lunch, which I have opted in for, who can say no to free surf and turf. But in the end I don't need to go overboard, nor do I have to have part of the dessert bar that will be there. The next challenge is tomorrow's wrap party. Work is coming to an end and so there is a wrap party, which is free drinks, and food and what nots. I just need to keep anything I do have in check, try not to have too much fatty or salty appitizers, and again, no sweet appys'. Let's see how I do.0 -
Thanks i am glad that the post is helpful to someone! And thanks for sharing!
I know next week will be better then this week, i had my therapy on friday and that helped and i noticed that although my weight has not done much moving around feels easier now that the intense heat is gone, i no longer have swollen ankles every day!
Next week i can bust through my barrier0 -
Wow, it's nice to know I'm not alone!
I have been struggling, once I was derailed - it's really hard to get back to it.
