What nuts???? Help!

i have not incorporated nuts into my new woe and we are heading on a trip in the morning and I think I need to get some just incase! What's the best nuts for Lchf diet??

    Almonds, and macadamias are the choices I stick to. Roasted, with salt of course :wink:

    What she said! Sunflower Seeds in the shell are good for taking up time and getting your salt up, too.

    Dr. Atkins always recommended macadamia nuts, in fact they were even used for his "fat fasts". I love cashews, and of course they are the nut he always discouraged ppl from eating. Almonds are good but I don't like the taste a lot. I do eat them but usually for cooking, like breading chicken with crushed slivered almond=genius. It's the perfect texture.

    Besides cashews my favs are walnuts, but they are so expensive I usually settle for pecans (which happen to be hubby's fav). I'm not a peanut fan but I will use peanut butter sometimes. Like someone said, not a real nut, but sunflower seeds in the shell make a wonderful salty time consuming TV snack.

    I just had some pecans a few minutes ago. They are good, but you gotta watch portions. I usually mete out an ounce at a time or I could mindlessly eat way too many without knowing it.

    Basically any kind of nut or seed. Almonds, Macadamias, Pistachios, Pecans, Mixed nuts, Brazil nuts, even flavored or spices nuts as long as they don't have too many carbs or sugars in them.

    I love salted roasted pistachios. If you buy them with the shells still on, you'll eat less as you spend most of the time deshelling them!

    Pistachios are way too yummy for me to buy anymore, since I will eat too many of them, and impact my carb count too much. I always stop losing weight and will even gain if eating too many nuts.

    I only allow a tiny amount of raw macadamia nuts or almonds these days. Be careful with roasted nuts, since the fat quality of nuts can be damaged with too much heat.

    For me, nuts are a rare treat.

    I don't recall the carb count, since its been a few months since I've had them regularly. I bought the blue diamond brand and I recall the serving size of 27 pieces, but can't remember the carbs. Mfp food diary can tell you. I only ate the macadamias very early on to increase fats.

    Thanks so much everyone! Just trying to come up w things to keep in my hotel room so if I get hungry I have something avail because hunger is my weakness not the food! Lol. I get shaky and sick feeling and will eat anything to stop it,lucky usually a bite or 2 of something will work.

    Walnuts, pecans & mac nuts have the highest fat to carb ratios.

    I used to get a small measuring cup and count out my 27 pieces and eat the slow, and consciously. Satisfying, but can be very easy to overeat them without realizing it!

    We always have a bag of Fisher walnuts around for snacking. Tried the Diamond brand but they were way to bitter just for snacking. In a chocolate chip cookie, that might be a different story...

    Macadamia nuts have 17 g of monounsaturated fat per oz. and are buttery and delicious!

    Nuts are my kryptonite, so I've been very careful.

    Traveling last week I bought almonds and pecans, not raw but unsalted.

    It seemed that it was easier for me to eat only an ounce or two of the unsalted ones, as opposed to the temptation to mindlessly wolf down a half pound or so.

    If I have a little more self control I'd much prefer the salted ones for the Salty goodness and benefits.
