I have been doing lchf for a few weeks, and doing okay. However, my protein levels are as low as my carbs some days (50-70g) Im eating eggs or meat st every meal, but stick to 4oz portions as Im just not hungry for a larger portion. What do you eat for proteins outside of meals? I also have trouble hitting the calorie goal without carbs and feel the extra protein ideas will help. Thanks.

How about a daily protein shake?

There's always full fat Greek yogurt. I don't especially like meat, other than seafood and fish, so I know the feeling. I would eat more fat to hit your calorie goals. Seventy grams of protein is close to a reasonable amount for a lot of women. Sometimes I make a batch of grilled chicken and add it to things, like omelettes and salads. If I'm feeling lazy, I get those little cooked shrimp and make a shrimp melt by mixing them with a spoonful of mayonnaise, some grated cheese, and maybe a few drops of hot sauce, then heating it. It's good with an avocado.

I love almond butter, nuts, a couple slices of cold cuts. Those are my go to's.

I too added protein powder to my diet because of low protein intake. I use a stevia vanilla whwy powder which I whip into my morning coffees with coconut oil or cream.

    recipes.
They sell whey protein shake powder. I use Body Fortress, I get it at Walmart. I use a mini blender and it is delicious.

I like using hulled hemp seeds in lieu of protein powder. I do a variation of the "Chocolate Hemp Shake" from www.healthfulpursuit.com. There is also a protein superfood powder by LivFit I ran across. Neither of these things are sweetened. I use only Sweet Leaf brand Stevia, and I only sweeten to tolerance, not to taste. This is the only AS I've found that doesn't trigger blood sugar reactions or cravings. I use coconut oil instead of the hemp oil, and I mix up the rest of things, but overall, this is my go to breakfast. Depending on your current lean body mass, your protein goal as it is may be enough for you...

I don't think I'd use the word lean in my body mass- ha ha, but I will look up the shake. Thanks

It helps kill the chocolate cravings, too, because using cocoa powder, you don't get the sugar fix part. LOL

Shrimp, fish, tuna (in water), lean low fat ham, skinless chicken....just don't add any fat to them and you'll get all the protein you want. And they are low cal too.

    I hope this helps,

Increase fats - you'll have no problem hitting calorie goal. Whey isolate shakes for added protein.
