Well, this is pretty much what I expected after the funeral and travel. I haven't hooked up my personal computer again yet (am accessing this site from my agency laptop), so I haven't uploaded my bodymedia, but I did meet my walking buddy last night and we put in probably close to 90 minutes. She's having dental surgery today though, and will not be walking again for several days. I wish I could clone her since she's not able to walk as many evenings as I can. Her pace and stamina are so good and they really get me to push myself.

Thanks again Sarah for the weigh-in thread:

    Loss of 1.5

I have to credit the Fitbit challenges, logging food, and just plain having some time to devote and to focus. Come the holidays. . . I may not have as much success. But, I'm kind of in the groove right now, so I hope to just keep it going. It seems to get easier with daily practice. I've especially noticed that I don't miss alcohol. . but it took more than a week for me to not miss my wine or cocktail! :p Wish me luck with continuing with that through the holidays, ha ha ha!

Sarah, maintaining is good when you consider all the stress from the funeral, settling your mom's estate and work, not to mention the change of diet during the traveling and funerals recently.

Sheesh, what a great weight loss especially when you don't have much left to lose!

I was feeling great about losing 1.6 lbs until I saw what you did, LOL :)

Light, 1.6 pounds is terrific, especially when you're facing extra work time and work stress. Way to go!

it is good but when you consider how much I have to lose, vs how little Sheesh has to lose, she is clearly the winner this week :)

WOO HOO - Sheesh AND LIGHT!!! THose are awesome numbers. I think you sent them this way. Haha. I haven't been on the scale, but I need to do that tomorrow. It won't be good. The waistline on my clothes is getting snug and my thighs are actually feeling it...I don't remember feeling in there before. I need to get back on track.

Light, a 1.6 pound loss is always awesome, no matter how much you have to lose!! Great work! 3,500 calories per pound is not just a few calories to leave off a weekly menu. Let's face it, weight loss is a b**ch!! And with stress and work and no A/C . . . hats off to you :)

Lois, your nausea and weakness is concerning. I hope you're not pushing too hard with everything you have going on.

Sarah, sometimes when I'm not all that hungry I'm tempted to just not eat. It's a bad idea. When I was working I would get really busy and stressed and just run off to work with no breakfast, work through lunch, and by dinner I was so famished I ate all the wrong things in large amounts and drank alcohol. That's when I went up to my heaviest weight, and was in the worst shape because I rarely exercised. It's a recipe for failure with weight control and for poor health. I'm sure you already know this. Once a woman gets to our age, we've tried most everything, LOL.

Sheesh, you are describing my past life perfectly. I would go without food all day, overeat in the evening, and because of the stress of work and how tired I was, I'd just collapse and often got little or no physical activity in. Even during a time when I went to a gym regularly after work, that did not fully offset my poor eating habits. And I'd look at what I ate and talk about how I ate healthy foods! Didn't matter. Just didn't.

So last night I was so tired I could have cried. Too little sleep and too much stress yesterday took everything out of me, but I got a text from my walking buddy saying that she could meet me at the mall, so out I went. And I felt so much better afterward.

But having patted myself on the back for that--I have to admit that even though I'm not doing the starve/overeat routine, my daily calorie intake is still too high for the amount of moving I can do while working this job and handling two family deaths. I've got to get myself back in the habit of stopping eating just shy of full so that my brain can take over my tummy. I attribute that to some of my successful weight loss in the early "bugg" days.

Light--listen to Sheesh! You did great. And Lois--listen to Sheesh!! If that nausea and weakness continues, get it checked. We need you here kicking our butts!

Oh I am so headed in the wrong direction...and it's all about the food, about the food, about the food, not the moving! (haha). Yep. I've got to get it under control. Hubby's even noticing I'm eating stuff that I normally have no interest in consuming. I was wondering if I've been pm'sing for the past couple of weeks. I still have the ovaries, but everything else is gone. Between the stress and I'm thinking hormones .... possibly starting the perimenopausal? Seriously wondering. Ah well.

Ok...so the feelings I had on Saturday were limited to just during the tournament. I went home, took a quick 20 min nap before everyone came over for the fight and then slept in Sunday and I'm feeling my self again. Work was stressful again yesterday, but I shut my door and told even the owner to leave me be and pretend I was out of the office for the day. I had a complete mess on my desk, and while that's somewhat normal with the amount of paperwork I process daily, the stressful part was I had NO IDEA what was on my desk. THAT IS UNUSUAL! So I cancelled my training for the night at 930am and focused on my desk, determined not to leave until it was in order and everything processed and or filed. I finished at 430 and then headed out for my TRX class. Dang I felt AWESOME after that.

I then went to the auto part store and had them hook my car up to the computer doodad....it was a leaky gas cap. Once we removed and retightened my new gas cap the "Check Engine" light went away. I was prepared to be Penny from Big Bang Theory and put duct tape to cover the dang light. I can't afford to fix or replace the darn 231k mile awesome 4Runner that i love so much!! (remember I have Hawaii in 5 weeks and 3 days) Drove in this am and still NO MORE LIGHT!! Super happy!!

I have my eggs for breakfast, chicken and veggies for lunch and some atkins bars for a snack with a protein shake for post hike tonight!!! My slide is my Starbucks. I couldn't pass up the buy one get one free peppermint mocha - but I got it with 2 less pumps of each flavor but an extra shot of espresso! One for this morning and one for tomorrow. then I'm going DECAF!!!! I have to get back off of the caffeine. I have a dr. appt next month and I need to be off for a few weeks before I see him. HAHAHA.

Sarah, awesome job getting your walking done in spite of the work and stress overload!!

Lois, glad you're feeling better and got some irritating chores checked off! PMS? Wow, I left that in my rear view mirror a long time ago . . and good riddance! :D

We got our Christmas lights up . . Now if I can just START shopping. We're going to go see both our Cali and Oregon families with younger daughter in tow for Christmas. Lois, are you in Hawaii for Xmas? Sarah, ask Santa for a FitBit Charge HR! You've been VERY good ;)

Sheesh - had the hysterectomy several years ago, but still have the ovaries. That was the only thing i could think of that would whack out my eating such weird stuff (Besides pregnancy - which without the plumbing - is not even possible). Perimenopausal - I shudder to think...so I'm wondering if it's similar to some of my friends who are cycling once or twice a year at my age. I dunno. And I do not miss those cycles.. Oct 12, 2006 (but hey who's counting right)

I got in a beautiful 52 min hike last night...loving our new headlamps. And I leave for HI the day after Christmas and will be there for the New Year - WOO HOO!!!

ooooohhhh where are you off to for the holidays? Somewhere exciting - grandbaby land???
I've been using headlamps forever. I've this one that I piccked up about 3 years ago for $10 and LOVED it....until I dropped it and now it doesn't work anymore. HOWEVER, the new one can be the same brightness as my original or TWICE as bright - which was super way cool!
