Hey guys, I'm a pescetarian who's seriously considering the vegan lifestyle, but I live in a family of meat-eaters and it gets pretty hard. How did you all start on your vegan journey and what are some tips you have? Thanks :)

My family is hard core meat eaters. My brother in law and my little sister are also hunters. I just do my own thing and ignore what they have to say about my choices. If they give me grief I simply say I give you respect for your choices all I ask for is the same.
When it comes to family meals I always bring options for me to eat and extras to share.

I never thought I'd give up meat, but here I am 5 1/2 years later and still meat free. It was easy for me as some friends and family already made the jump in various ways. Mostly, people ask "the protein" question. No biggie. Other times, people are curious as to how I do it.

What it comes down to is that if people leave me alone, I will do the same. One of the stereotypes of us veggies is that we're like ex-smokers, ex-alcoholics, or whatever who start preaching their new life style. Keeping in mind that people just want to be left alone, I don't talk about my diet unless someone asks me.

I've been thinking I might have to just do it or might never do it.

I'm incorporating more vegan type things, and trying to minimize use of dairy

I'm a pescetarian and now making the decision to eat less eggs and dairy. I'm not sure if I will become fully vegan, but I am enjoying trying new things. I started by just being more aware of the dairy in my daily intake. I have tummy issues and have been wondering if it could be a dairy intolerance. As for cheese, I thought I would be miserable without it. I have found that it is easier than I thought it would be to cut way down
