I just replaced my FitBit Flex with the Charge HR! I am looking forward to not having a Polar chest strap during my workouts! Let's do this peeps!
Feel free to add me for motivation, support, cheers and (friendly) taunts!

I have the Fitbit Charge. I've used it to lose 100 lbs this year. However, I'm looking at the Charge HR and wondering what benefit I would derive from the heart rate monitoring. Any opinions out there? (Sorry if this is a FAQ.)0

I have the Fitbit One. I started using it a while ago and I love it. I'm a student and I work behind a desk, so I rarely manage to break 3000 steps each day. I'm looking for motivation! Thanks in advance for adding me!

Congrats on losing 100 lbs!
I was given my Charge HR as a gift and asked this question, too. Now, I love the heartrate function. Here's why:
-I can monitor my heartrate and determine if it is high enough for exercise, or low enough for relaxation.
-I can actively work on lowering my resting heartrate over time. When I have a hard workout, my resting heart rate actually drops a few BPM. I can watch my average go down over time.
-I receive immediate feedback to determine if I am exercising too hard, or if I need to pick it up a bit.
-The immediate feedback also tells me if I am stressed out and need to take a breather. I've often checked my HR during lunch at work, decided it was too high, and took 5 deep breaths while watching my HR drop.
-I've learned a lot more about my Fat Burn, Cardio, and Peak heartrate zones and how/when to keep my HR in each zone.
Note that as a user, I have more interest in increasing my fitness level rather than losing weight. I am a runner and a yogi, so the HR monitoring really helps me improve by giving me that instant feedback. So I think the HR monitoring function is more or less helpful depending on what your goals are.0 -
I've had my Charge HR for awhile now and love it. I've recently lost 25 lbs and am looking to lose 20-25 more. If eating healthy and getting fit is your goal, feel free to add me. Not interested in anything but motivation and encouragement toward our weight loss/health goals.
