My husband sounds like bubble wrap.

This is weird. My husband has been low carb with me, since summertime. He has lost probably 30 pounds or so. A couple days ago, he was pinching the skin on his legs and asked, "Do you hear that? What is that?" There were crackling sounds whenever and wherever he pinched himself, upper and lower body parts. Arms, legs, torso. No pain elicited. The skin itself appears normal and the noise seems to come from beneath the skin. Does not seem to be crepitus or joint related. Just noisy muscles/tissues. Anyone else have this experience?

That's weird, and I would run it by a doctor, asap, just in case. You wouldn't want to ignore it if he had some sort of infection under his skin that was producing bubbles of gas.

Usually, urgent care is the quickest way to see a doctor.

I've never heard of that, either. I'd definitely check with his dr.

Interesting. I was an RT a long time ago and only ever heard of those symptoms happening in the chest and neck area. Definitely check with your doc.

Crepitous would be my guess. I've never heard this type of noise without it being that. Does he have a history of breathing issues?

But yes, a doctor needs to know about this. Though I wouldn't believe it to be diet related.

Thanks for your replies. I'll call the doctor. There really is nothing else different. Just the tiny crackle sounds.
