Homemade chicken or beef broth - how to count the calories

Soups/stews are so great this time of the year, and I have a cookbook with recipes I love. But I prefer to cook with broth or stock I've made from scratch and am at a loss as to how to count the calories. Obviously, the meat I can weigh and measure separately -- it's just the broth I'm paranoid about. Rather than make my favorites with the packaged broth from the grocery, I just avoid making them.

Well my guess would be to put it into the recipe gizmo -- how much meat, veg, etc you put in and divide it by the number of servings you get from the batch. It will just be roughly estimated but it might be enough. Broth is relatively lo cal so I don't think you should stop making it.0

Broth is mostly zero calorie water. Just make it yourself and pick a calorie count from a package.0

Thanks to you both for the suggestions. I do tend to overthink things and you've definitely helped me put it in perspective -- off to the store I go for supplies! Yay!0

I would think that broth is free but it must have fat .....0
