Food swap Ideas!!

I started swapping my nightly bowl of cheetos for Special k protein- I just put a serving in a bowl ( small bowl so it looks fuller) and munch on that while I watch TV at night. Also I won't bring any half gallons of ice cream in the house. Only single serve - skinny cow ice cream cones, ice cream sandwiches 150 cal max.
This has helped me alot!! My husband did look at me weird the first time I got a bowl of cereal to snack on - but who cares!
What other ideas or swaps do you guys do??
I have in the past used peanut butter powder too!

Recently I've really gotten into "dessert" smoothies. I made a "carrot cake" smoothie the other day:
1 carrot, 1 banana, 1tbsp maple syrup, 1 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup greek yogurt and some ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon.
It was really good! Obviously the texture is all different, but the flavor was surprisingly similar?
Sometimes I whip peanut butter with a bit of milk to make it go further with fewer calories (and it spreads easier too!).
Frozen grapes make a great popsical replacement.
Also, single serving mug cakes (finally successfully made one with coconut flour last night, and it was amazing). You just have to be careful to choose a recipe in the 200~300 calorie range (bonus points for healthy ingredient swaps too) as opposed to the ones that sometimes max out at 700~800cal for a single cake...0 -
When I get back from class and Im so hungry I could eat my whole fridge, I usually just make myself an omelette with 3 egg whites and 1-2 whole eggs. I put a little bit of tomatoes, paprika, and cayenne pepper. It keeps me full until dinner and is really good for meeting my protein goal.0

Omg! That smoothie carrot cake I'm definitely going to try!! I just got one of those bullet mixer things - I put some vanilla Greek yogurt in the freezer last night ...I was going to put frozen yogurt, a cup of keurig Starbucks cinnamon coffee and vanilla protein powder in bullet - hoping for all in one breakfast! However!! I was running late! And had no breakfast! Hopefully I get a frozen coffee/ protein drink tomorrow
Last night after working out - I did almond milk, protein powder and 6 frozen peach quarters ( small pieces) I was shocked those few peaches froze the whole cup! It was like a milkshake! I really like the personal mixer thing!! Way better than using my huge blender!! Genius!0 -
You should try a beltsander brownie - they're amazing! similar to the mug cake mentioned above!
I Just put 1 scoop of protein powder, 1 tbsp cacao/cocoa powder, cinnamon & baking powder in a mug. Add a small bit of water until it makes a paste & microwave for 30-60 seconds depending! Top then with greek yoghurt, fruit, nut butter etc... they usually give me a chocolate kick without having to go for a bar!
Also about 150g greek yoghurt mixed with protein powder is another lifesaver, again add toppings of your choice which will bump up the calorie/macro content depending on what you choose! You can freeze it too if you wanted Froyo!0
