Hi, Everyone!
Hope you enjoyed your weekend...I spent mine shoveling out from our snow...nice calorie burn, but I am getting too old for that crap.
Today we start Week 4. How is everyone feeling?
Here is the first workout for Week 4.
W4, D1
Brisk 5-minute warm up walk (remember to stretch)
* Jog for 3 mins
* Walk 90 seconds
* Jog 5 mins
* Walk 2.5 mins
* Jog 3 minutes
* Walk 90 seconds
* Jog 5 minutes

5-minute cool down.

W4 D1 finished. I did W3 D3 on Saturday.
We didn't get that much snow (thank goodness). I hate snow, and cold things.. I think we got like.. maybe 3 inches. I did manage to get outside and make a snowman with my kids. It was fun other than the fact I do not own a pair of gloves. They enjoyed it which is what counts.0 -
[gasp][pant][swallow] W4D1 [pant] complete (yesterday) [cough][gasp].
This was a tough one for me, probable 'cause I tried to get an estimate on my VO2max (the maximal volume of oxygen that can be utilized in one minute during exhaustive exercise) using the Balke Treadmill Test on Saturday. Had to give it up after 72 minutes as my cheap retail treadmill maxed out at a 12% incline. Silver lining of that failure is that I did get in a 72 minute workout, burning almost 830 calories.
Two major workout days in a row. Peak heart rate during 10K app hit 181 bpm and I was feeling it too so skipped third and fourth sprints. I straddled the treadmill during these two sprints and walked the rest of it out.

I agree...this was harder. I died during my last 5-minute running segment. Ended up walking out the last 1.5 minutes of it. Better results tomorrow, I hope.0
