    Hey y'all! I'm new to the whole Fitbit/MFP community. Just got my fitbit this weekend, really hoping I can stick with logging everything! Weekends will be extremely difficult for me. Trying to shed 60lbs. Friend me if you like!

    I am a new Fitbit HR owner and I am really excited to get started. I am trying to read the many reviews and tips on myfitnesspal, but I can't find what I'm looking for.
    Is there a way to sync my fitbit to myfitnesspal? I find myself entering foods in both and then logging my activity into myfitnesspal.

    The Math:
    Average calorie burn per day times 30 days = 80700 calories burned
    Average calorie intake per day times 30 days = 40200 calories consumed.
    Deficit = 40500 calories.
    1lb = 3500 calories.
    40500 divided by 3500 = 11.57.
    According to my scales at home….I started at exactly 200lbs and now weigh 188.4 a difference of 11.6lbs.

    Uhmmmm all I can say is holy nuts

    Does this workout for anyone else????

    Excellent confirmation.

    It sure can - but it really depends on if your daily activity is well estimated for calories by correct stride length, and exercise is too by HR, and your food logging is right.

    Meaning - despite what Fitbit could be possible of doing - can all be undone by a person and their methods of logging.

    I would suggest though - the moment you see that math not working, lighten up on the deficit - eating 50% of what your body is burning is a bad idea. very bad, unless you don't want muscle mass for some reason.

    And if you are doing math with weight that includes the initial big water weight drop of starting a diet - the math already doesn't work out correctly.

    I agree and thanks for pointing this out. I've felt my calorie intake is to low but I've been eating all the time, just very low calorie items like vegetables which satisfy but do little to add many calories. I am making a point to get my calorie intake higher. Shooting for around 1650 or so and "NOT sweating it" if i eat 1700 to 1850 ish in a day. Its hard to kinda get yourself convinced that eating higher calories is a better thing than to few in a "diet" despite how a low calorie can initially show big results.

    I need to choose a couple higher calorie snacks that are healthy per day and I would probably be better off plus have a couple good choices to top off the day in the evening when i see where I've landed for the day. almonds or cottage cheese or something like that.

    I plan to start a 30 day push up challenge and a 30 day pull up challenge today to keep some muscle building exercises going along with probably only 3 or so days of cardio per week. I'm the type of person that while i'm not lazy, i have no desire to spend and hour or two in the evening away from my wife and son at the gym. Therefore, I opt for body-weight exercises that i can do at home that do provide results and are good for me and they don't require a ton of time. The LAST thing on earth i want to do is regress back to being a storehouse for fat again so this needs to be done correctly. I am losing to much to fast at the present rate.

    Thanks again.
