Trying to motivate myself.

I lost a lot of weight in the early 2000's with low carb I was the biggest cheerleader for this way of life. I still think it is the best way of eating ,losing weight and regaining mobility.
I gained almost everything back the last few years through family personal issues and just not caring about myself.
I restarted a couple of weeks ago and finally have the IT back that undefined thing in my brain that just clicks. I am hoping to get back in the Gym in the next few days and this is where the fear sets in.
The Gym I just joined is co-ed and I have always went to a women's only gym. Ironically I know in how women can be the worst critics I felt more comfortable there and it is where I loss all the weight.
So I am trying to get my nerve to walk well in my case right now roll since my mobility with my lymphedema and weight is at a max point.
How do you do it, get pass the mental barriers of being judged and knowing they really are talking about you?

I just do it, we all have bad body images of ourselves. Don't make stories, we have no idea what people think, hard to do. Ask yourself if this is true would you want these people in your life? Go for it, be kind you deserve life. Gayle Minneapolis0

Honestly, I say this to myself too, you have to constantly remind yourself that you aren't there for them or you are there for YOU! Don't let others keep you from getting to your goal! You can do it!0

Thanks for the replies I have not taken that step yet have had a few issues migraine, waiting on plumber.
I plan on getting there this week I will just have to take that step inside.
I am not sure why the co-ed scares me more I am sure none of the men would be interested in me right now anyway lol
I did buy a Vibration Machine to use at home I am hoping helps with Lymph movement.

People mostly are thinking about themselves and caught up in their own world, so aside from being noticeably noticed, you'll probably be left to do your own thing. People observing you isn't necessarily out of any malice. You never know, they may be thinking "good for her for making an effort." If you haven't already, ask a staff member for a tour of the gym and equipment. This will help you feel less lost as you get used to the gym. Don't be shy about questions. Take note of where cleanser/paper towels are for cleaning off equipment before/after use. Are there time limits for popular equipment or other curtesy rules that might not be visibly posted? Ask when the best times to come for certain equipment or your preferences are (like when are the treadmills most likely to be free or when is the gym less crowded overall) and don't worry about other's negative thoughts. Remember, you paid for your membership just like everyone else, so you "belong there" too! After I had been faithfully going for 6 weeks, people started cautiously approaching me to tell me they noticed how hard I had been working and they could see I had lost some weight. That made me uncomfortable at first, but then it turned into motivation and accountability that kept me going on days when I didn't feel like it.0

I did 1 mile with Leslie Sansone Walk Away The Pounds dvd. I love her dvd's. I was thinking my ankles were going to hurt a lot while doing the exercise, and at first it was hard to move. But as I stuck with it, they surprisingly didn't hurt so much. I am not ready to do the full 3 miles of the dvd but 1 mile is a good start. I'm very excited and happy that I can do what I thought my ankles were going to hold me back from doing. I will do the 1 mile for a couple weeks then hopefully do 2 miles and so forth. I am definitely on my way! Yeay!0
