Dry White Wine on a Keto Diet?

I was wondering if it was alright to have a glass of dry white wine while low carbing. The wine is 190 calories and 4 carbs. If that fits in with my macros is it safe to have and not be knocked out of ketosis?

Should be OK. I find I don't lose weight when I drink, but the odd time is OK.0

I have dry wine occasionally and have had no issues with keto or weight loss0

Thank you for your response. I will be able to have the odd glass and not worry about it. Puts my mind at ease.0

I have a glass or two of wine most weekends. It's never caused me to go out of ketosis or seemed to have any effect on my weight.
The only thing that has changed is that I tend to get totally drunk on very little compared to before.
Be warned! Lol0 -
Oh yes I forgot about that, be careful your tolerance has likely changed a lot.0

Thanks, I'll stick to 1 glass on the weekend so that I can have a treat and not get too tipsy. lol0

The wine itself doesn't kick you out of ketosis. But it "pauses" it. The alcohol will be "processed" first by your body. My favorite is Cavit Pinot Grigio with .7g of carbs per 5oz. Source: http://www.cavitcollection.com/html/nutritional_facts.asp

I have small amounts of red wine on occasion and it's fine, I don't like having a lot just because I know my body will have to burn off the alcohol before it goes back to fat.0

Cheap date here too. In early April I will be with a group of girlfriends, in KL, two of which are legendary for the bottles of assorted drinks they can consume in a night. Late 30s early 40s but still swigging it back like a competition. 7 other ladies who will have a few social drinks then me who after either a white wine or a champagne I am likely to feel like I love them all, including the show offs! Sticking to one. My best friend assures me she will carry me home if that is too much0

Dry reds are fine too! The yeast eats up most of the sugar that was in the grapes, and alcohol itself is not a carbohydrate, and not metabolized like a carb.0

Champagne is even lower carb <2g. If you like it and can afford it.
I wonder if I drank vodka, lime sodas or sauvignon blancs or dry reds or champagnes; which would result in the highest carb n calorie load. (Different values and default serving volumes) I think I'd enjoy the vodka least so might be easiest to just have one, so that may be the low for me. My russian friend, not so much0 -
You have to watch the calories, and do what is best for your liver, however, 80 proof alcohol has 0 carbs per 100 grams. I generally prefer wine, and don't drink anything that doesn't taste good to me.0
