Has anyone had success in lowering their BP by following LCHF?
Any tips greatly appreciated.

It depends on the underlying causes. LCHF is a natural diuretic, so if you've got sodium-sensitive hypertension, it'll bring down your BP, but that doesn't address the underlying cause.

Losing weight will help. Especially losing ectopic fat.

    Reducing inflammation will help.

    Exercise will help.

LCHF helps with all of them except for the exercise effects. :)

Mine is down about 15 after going LCHF. No tips other than less than 50 grams of carb

I never did LCHF before, but I did do LCLF and my blood pressure went way down. But I have spoken to a cardiologist about LCHF and he totally recommends this WOE for just about every medical condition, including HBP.

Thanks for the replies all, it is reassuring, that this woe will help rather than hinder me in this challenge.

My blood pressure issues are hereditary, even when I was slim and fit it was high, but the weight has made it worse. I stopped taking my diuretic the first week of this woe, I nearly passed out from low blood pressure, it was 80/40. I'm hoping to get rid of one more pill as my bp runs really low right now (105/55) but I doubt I'll be able to get off all my bp pills, even after losing the weight and exercising again. But I'll just be happy not to take a palm full of pills daily.

Mine hasn't changed, maybe gone up a bit which is good for me. I tend to run on the normal to low normal end of things.

My mother had high blood pressure for years and had also been on medication for it for years. I dragged her along on this WOE with me and the doctors have since taken her off all her blood pressure medication. Yay!

Was able to eliminate b/p medication with this woe (as well as several other medicines)! It's wonderful! Good luck!

About three weeks and six lost pounds into LC, my blood pressure went from 150-ish over 90-ish to 120-ish over 70-ish. I was taking the very lowest dosage of BP medication and went off it without a hitch. In the five months I've been in maintenance, my BP readings (which I take at home regularly) are in the same low range with no medication.

I had read that this is a common benefit of this WOE but I was very pleasantly surprised at how quickly it worked.

My readings are 140-150 over 90-100.

Go is loathe to put me on med. I don't drink or smoke, and neither parent has high BP. Hope diet and weightless help...With some exercise thrown in.
