Note: I could be wrong about the Not 100% too, I used a Atkins frozen Dinner as I had a coupon for it and it looked good. I had the Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo Frozen meal. The calories are a bit higher than the NS Chicken in BBQ Baked beans @ 330 calories. 26G Protein, High Sodium @ 1070mg, 4g of fiber seems low and 9g of carbohydrates, Not unexpected as Atkins is a low Carb high protein diet plan. 9ounces weight vs the NS Chicken Alfredo, however the NS has no vegetables and lots of pasta and less chicken. The Amount of Chicken in the NS seems to be all over the place too.
Mini review. Tasty with pieces of Broccoli and several Nice sized pieces of Chicken Breast meat, slightly salty taste but I will probably buy again if I can find another $1 off coupon for one entree.
The other Atkin Entree I tried was their Beef Merlot with Broccoli. Tasty will buy again Nice quantity of Beef. 9G Carbs, 920g sodium, 3g fiber and 310 calories. 9 ounces weight
Hi
I did get out for my walk this morning, The rain has not really moved in yet I did get drizzled on for a little while and then it stopped. 20 degrees warmer that yesterday for the same time according to the Weatherman.
Have a Nice Wednesday

Hi Donna
Sorry to hear about You hip, Considering it pains You I would say that is a awesome amount of steps.
FWIW if You order Frozen A La Carte with Your Shelf Stable order You should get Your usual discount and free shipping. I would check to see if You need to order $50 with the regular order to get the free shipping on it.

Hi
When I went out walking this morning the weather was OK, Everything was wet from the rain, however the rain was gone and the temperatures were mild for February too. I was showing 50 degrees on the front porch when I left around 7:30. Tomorrow the weather is forecast to be colder with either wet snow or rain in the morning
The Walking is much easier with much of the snow melted off of the sidewalks, Yea!
I tried what was suggested with the NS Frozen Bacon Egg Cheese Muffin and microwaved it to defrost it, Then put the Muffin in the toaster, Microwaved the Egg and Canadian style bacon, Placed the cheese on the muffin after it came out of the toaster. Much better textures that way. Thank You to the person who suggested doing it that way.
Have a Great Thursday
RogerToodharris1014 wrote: »2/3 not 100, went to dinner late and ended up getting chicken wings.
Hi Donna
Been There, Done that in the past. BTW TBH Chicken Wings depending on how they prepared are not too bad once in a blue moon.
Now I eat On Plan by breaking the foods up so I am eating something every 2.5 hours starting with a Banana (SC) around 67AM before I walk and breakfast when I am home at 9:30. Then a PF +SC snack at Noon, Lunch at 2:30, Afternoon Snack at 5PM, Dinner at 7:30PM and Dessert sometime after 9PM. That helps defeat the munchies and makes it easier to stay on plan.
Every Now and then I throw in a cheat meal such as Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner with friends at the Diner or a Chinese Buffet, not counting the Sodium the Chinese Buffet does make it fairly easy to stay nearly on plan. Things Like letting the sauce drain off of Chicken Broccoli and Fresh Fruit as a dessert and some Salad with no dressing.
Good Luck

Hi
I think I went nuts this morning
Currently it is snowing, started around 6AM, I got fully dressed in rain gear and Insulated Shoe replacement boots and went out walking around 7:15. I will say that the walking was not bad due to staying on a route where the sidewalks had been cleaned and dry from the previous snow. 8200+ steps I was back home around 9:10. My guess that the walking would be good with traction from the snow was proven correct
Later on when the snow stops and the town has plowed my street back out shoveling
I did see them plowing as I was nearing the house. They do the streets that get more traffic such as that street first.
Have a Nice Friday

Hi
I delayed my walk this morning as I want to stop by the bank and it does not open until 9AM. So Dunkin Donuts for a refill coffee, and stop at the bank later. Out the door around 8AM and back home at 9:30, 7000+ steps and 1 Penny today along with a Dime yesterday, Yea I'm getting rich walking
10 +/- degrees colder than yesterday at this time. Colder air in the forecast for next week and a probability of Snow Monday, maybe Tuesday and several other days in the week showing in the 7 day forecast
I just finished Breakfast, NS Pancakes & a NS Coffee Protein Shake as well as the 106gram Banana before I went for the walk. Probably a Quaker Oats Banana Bread flavor Instant Oatmeal @160 calories. Followed by a PF of CostCo Kirkland brand Canned Turkey as a PF and
either a SC of Kirkland Canned Corn that is close to its use by date or an Apple as the SC and a Steak & Cheese melt for Lunch and of course Vegetables

Hi
I was out walking today + 7 cents. I seem to be making covering the same distance in fewer steps and a little quicker than I was last year. I guess that's progress There were several people out walking the Dog or Jogging today, more than I usually see.
It was a little cold when I left, It did warm up OK as the walk progressed however. They are still saying some snow Tomorrow arriving around 5Am and maybe more from a different system Monday night into Tuesday
I was just looking at my food on hand and thinking I am heavy on Breakfasts, Lunches and Snacks. Not quite so much on Dinners. I had delayed my next order by two weeks, I am now thinking that I may delay even longer. My best guess is based on this reply last year from NutriSystem
"Here is how we make substitutions for our foods with the Day Off Guide:
Breakfast Entree = 1 PF + 1 SC
Lunch Entree = 1 PF + 1 SC
Dinner Entree = 2 PF + 1 SC
Dessert = 1 SC"
Thus It seems I could use Lunches or Breakfasts as Dinners by adding a PF easily and get my meals into balance that way. I have also noticed that the Breakfasts seem to be lower calorie overall compared to Lunches.
BTW I was listening to the Shadow on my walk today. Shows advertising the Red Cross from less than a year after the war in Europe ended. I know that as they mention that a year ago today there was fighting in the streets of Cologne
Have a Great Sunday

Hi Donna
For future use why not keep NS Ice Cream Sandwiches or the Chocolate brownie Sundae in the freezer for Yourself and Ice cream treats for the Grandkids? FWIW they seem to have been reformulated and along with the Fudge bar they are now better tasting than before.
I agree why not spoil them, That is a grandparents job

Hi
I was out walking + 12 Cents, a little earlier than usual due to the weather forecast showing Snow starting shortly. It was 37 Degrees this morning with a intermittent Breeze which made it feel colder when it was blowing.
I added a a little distance to my walk. I'll have to go to MapMyRun later and see how far I walked. I am with the weather forecast showing some snow today and more tonight into tomorrow from a different weather system.
Off to breakfast shortly featuring The NS Granola Cereal with Low fat UHT milk and a NS Vanilla Protein Shake. I already had a Banana before I left for my walk as Well as a Extra Large 7 Eleven Coffee where I used Decaf & Regular coffee mixed together in the cup.
Have a Great Monday

Hi
I decided to abandon my walk this morning. We had what looks like a dusting of snow overnight, However when I walked down the driveway I slid on that and then the street that looked Dry turned out to be icy so after slipping twice in 50 feet I turned around and am home making coffee home today. I may decide to take the day off from walking entirely or head our later if/when things get better for walking outside, Part of that decision will hinge on the weather forecasts for overnight into tomorrow.
Mini Review:
NutriSystem Ranch Snack-A-Rounds, What can I say 4 out of 10 on a 1 to 10 scale. I won't be reordering. I fed a sample to my brother and the feedback was Meh. I suggest You do try them for Yourself, They must have had taste tests so It is probably me, However the Snack-A-Rounds are three of the new Desserts I will not reorder.

Hi Donna
FWIW I think the Quaker Instant oats will work on plan for NutriSystem. Being less expensive and more flavors @160 calories per serving if made with water, more if made with milk. The Oatmeal packet doubles as the measuring cup for the liquid too. That would let You get other harder to replace NS Breakfasts. Of course read the label.
Here is the one I use.
Satisfy your hunger with Quaker® Weight Control Select Starts Instant Oatmeal. Each serving contains 37 grams of whole grains, 7 grams of protein, and 6 grams of fiber so you can start your day off full.*
*Contains 3 grams of fat per serving.
Calories 160
Total Carbohydrate 29g(10% )
Dietary Fiber 6g(23% )
Today's Foods so far will be NS Nutriflakes Cereal, Banana, NS Chocolate Protein Shake & Coffee. The rest of the day I will be deciding as I go, I am winging it today.
I reordered the Shelf Stable Cinnamon Bun in case it had been reformulated when they changed the packaging. It was OK, Much more dense than the Frozen Cinnamon Roll which is much better.
Your days food looks interesting. Thank You

Hi
I decided not to go out walking yet. When I looked out the window as I ate my pre-walk Banana It was lightly snowing, a fine small powdery looking snow, however given the temperature at the freezing point I decided to go after my noontime snack. Safety first
I did get out yesterday at that time and it was fine by then.

Hi Donna
Yesterday I tried the NS Shelf Stable Donut to see if it was any better, not really. I do like the NS Bagel sliced and toasted with a spritz of ICBINB.
So Yesterday was
Breakfast NS Nutriflakes Cereal, Banana, NS Chocolate Protein Shake & Coffee.
Midmorning snack was the NS Donut.
Lunch was the NS Southwest Melt, Cottage Cheese, 170g Frozen vegetables, and a Apple.
Afternoon Snack, a Mens Plan thing, was a NS Golden Pound Cake.
Dinner was NS Meatballs in Marinara with Whole Wheat Bread, 170g Frozen Vegetables, The other half of the bag , Light & Fit Pineapple Greek Yogurt and a serving of Cherries as a SC.
Then the NS Ice cream Sandwich for a later in the evening Dessert.
In case You are wondering I am using the NS 1800 calorie Plan currently, it may be time to switch to the 1500 calorie plan, Weight loss is slowing down. I suspect it would have stopped if I were not getting out walking.
OTOH I am toying with doing a maintenance month as I have been at it slightly over 2 years now. And I am fine where I am, Just not where I would like to be based in the Mirror and what research on the Internet shows is a normal weight.
Have a Nice Wednesday

Hi Donna
I like the Double Chocolate Muffin, The Others are Good too. Most of the Breakfast foods and Snacks whether Shelf Stable or Frozen are good. The Lunches and Dinners mostly good excluding the ones that are too hot for my taste buds
I guess I need to go back and do the spreadsheet
I did not go walking yet, Cold and breezy today. Temperature in the 20s as of 7AM. Forecast is for colder this weekend too. The local News12 Cable only channel just showed a overnight low for Saturday night into Sunday of 0 degrees, Last night the NYC stations were saying possible record low, The old record was I believe 2 degrees almost 100 years ago.
That will probably have an impact on my walking, especially if it is also breezy.
Today's food so far is a Banana and later breakfast will most likely be NS Waffles and Cottage cheese, Snack TBD (To Be Determined), Lunch NS Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Coffee Protein Shake, Vegetables and an Apple(s) Depends on their weight. Afternoon snack NS Chocolate Brownie, Dinner NS Stuffed Shells, Vegetables, Clementines and Light & Fit Greek Yogurt as a dessert, Evening Dessert probably a NS Ice Cream Sandwich.
Out the door later to the Have Taxes done for My Brother and I, Then Home, Noon Snack and go for a walk.
Have a Nice Thursday

Hi
I did better today than yesterday, I got out early before 8AM, 8100+ steps currently, Despite the temperature being colder than yesterday at 15 degrees it was more comfortable due to a much lower breeze so the wind chill was warmer. This upcoming weekend the forecast is for a windchill in the -15 to -25 degree range for this area. Since that is getting into a danger range for frostbite I may stay home or do a much shorter than usual walk
I picked up Bananas and a head of lettuce on the way back home. I would have picked up more except that I did it on the spur of the moment and therefore was not wearing my backpack as well as being worried that the lettuce might freeze on the way home.
I was listening to music from the 50s, 60, and 70s as a change of pace from listening to "The Shadow" radio shows form 1946 for the last week or so.
Have a Great Friday

Sorry for not being here. In the last week I've actually typed up 2 posts and lost both before I got them posted---ARRGHHH! Hoping this one sticks!
It's been a tough couple of weeks of eating for me. Completely off the rails over Super Bowl weekend and it really had nothing to do with football. Green the past 3 days so yahoo for me! Goodness I want to stop gaining and losing the same 5 pounds! Ready to head into a new decade, that's for sure...

Hi
based on the weather report on our local News12 Cable only channel I decided to go walking today early before the Temperatures dropped and the wind picked up. +5 cents, then as a I was walking the wind picked up and it started snowing, I was headed into the wind at that portion of my route so I reversed course and headed for home, The streets and sidewalks had enough snow on them to cover them. I was passing the Dollar Store at opening time so I went in a picked up a quart of 1% UHT milk for shelf stock. $1 for the quart size, dated use by January 5, 2017 Even with the warmup in the dollar store My fingers were getting cold by the time I got home.
Given that the forecast for Sunday shows wind chills in the -10 to -25 degree range for my area, Worse to the north FWIW, I have decided to set up the coffee maker tonight for tomorrow mornings coffee. My Brother picked up a can of 1/2 regular and 1/2 decaf coffee for me. Since I drink 24 ounces of coffee that is one way to cut down on caffeine.
Have a Good Saturday

I have decided that if I have a no loss or gain month it could be worse, I have been at it over two years now.

Definitely, Roger. I am grateful for not gaining. It can take me 3 to 5 days to gain 5 lbs and then 5 to 7 days to take it back off.
Oh, it was user error & happy fingers when typing responses. I'm a fast typer but sometimes get careless. I'm sure I hit some keyboard shortcut combination to lose my web page and everything I had in the reply. My laptop has a sensitive control pad that gets me too. If I hover too long, it will select something on the page. Who knows for sure...
Had another decent day today, but can't call it green. Although in line with how my doctor wants me to eat, had about 300 more calories than I should have had for the day.

Hi
It is cold out there this morning in NJ, in a nearby town local cable News12 channel is showing 2 degrees there, with a wind chill of -16 and a temperature at their studios of 1 degree at 8AM. No walking for me today. Tomorrow looks as if I will be going out later than usual too to give the Overnight temperatures a chance to warm up.
Not too much planned for today except to work on staying warm.
I have added the latest new foods I just saw available from NutriSystem here, 2 Frozen Dinners and a Shelf Stable Lunch Bar.
http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/105887-ns-food-reviews
I keep checking to see if the CostCo NutriSystem Gift cards are back on sale, no luck so far this year. I have enough for the upcoming order, if they do not I will have to pick them up at the $79.99 for $100 face value. Still better than paying $100 for $100 of NS.
Have a Good Sunday, Valentines Day

Hi Mary
Have You considered turning off the Touchpad and using a Mouse with the laptop instead?
I have had trouble with the palm of my hand hitting the touchpad when typing in the past myself and end up inserting or deleting where I did not want that to happen.
300 calories off of the NS guidelines but in line with what Your Doctor wants is something I would consider 100% as long as it meets NS guidelines. What I would do just to give an example:
If You are on the 1200 calorie plan and Your doctor wants You on 1500 switch to the 1500 calorie NS plan, Done.
Or if You are on the 1500 calorie plan and Your doctor wants You on 1800 switch to the 1800 calorie NS plan, Done. The worst that can happen is You loses slightly slower.
If You do not have the Plans summaries on hand let me know and I can dig them out of saved NS documents. As an example here is the NS guide for a 1500 calorie flex plan broken down by PF, SC and vegetables.
Have a Great Sunday

Hi
No walk yesterday, just too cold, I did get out today despite the 15 degree starting temperature. It was OK out for most of the walk until near the end, Around the time I left the Dunkin Donuts with my coffee it started to snow, there was enough snow to be swirling in the street when cars passed by. Then a little breeze came up and it felt colder despite being 20 degrees when I arrived home. Snow later today turning to rain at some point. If we get the wind whipped rain forecast for tomorrow no walk
On the news yesterday
New Yorkers were able to warm up Sunday with free hand warmers from Modell's.
Employees from the sporting goods retailer gave hand warmers out for free in Times Square and Penn Station.
Temperatures dropped to record lows Sunday, making it the coldest Valentine's Day in New York City in 100 years.
Which was nice of them. Also it seems that there were weddings taking place in Times Square despite the record cold for Valentines day too, Only in NYC.
Have a Good Week

Hi
The Local weather report shows that there is no rain currently so I thought I would go walking before the heavy rains come in later. The overnight snow that turned to rain has ended. I went out the front door and tested the footing before getting geared up to go as things are looking slushy and wet. Not good to walk in as the sidewalk is icy, Better safe than sorry. Traffic accident reports coming in as I type this listening to the radio.

Hi Again
I walked after I posted early this morning It drizzled a couple of times and after I was home home the skies opened up and it poured with high wind gusts. Then it ended this afternoon and I was out walking again as I was a little under on @ 7K+ steps + 1 cent, now I'm over @ 12K steps.
there was some slush and puddles this morning so I wore the insulated waterproof boots, this afternoon it was fine just a few puddles I could easily avoid.

Much better weather today when walking. Not as warm but OK and no rain There was a little icing in a few minor easily bypassed spots.
