If you are new or even experienced with the 21 Day Fix, exercise can sometimes be overwhelming. Although it is only 20% of the 21 Day Fix (the other 80% is diet), exercising will make a huge difference in your body.
Don't be frustrated if you are feeling sore, need to take breaks, need to modify movements or need to start slowly. You will gain strength over time by persistence and working through at your own pace. You will have days where you are sore and on those days, listen to your body and rest if you need to, but don't stop. As Autumn says, we can do anything for 60 seconds. Commit to that 30 minutes a day and after a few rounds of the program it will become a habit and you will be pleasantly surprised at how much easier your workouts get!

I started in what i thought was a slow manner, but the body was wiped out. So you may have to adjust your thoughts about what a slow start is. Just do a tiny bit more than you did yesterday. A minute more. A step more. A rep more. It does add up and make a difference!
And if you find yourself wanting 3 naps a day, like i did, then for goodness sakes, take the day off. Rest. You need rest to recover.0 -

Great job on modifying! The surrenders are so tough. I have knee problems as well and I modify all the time as it's not humanly possible to get as low as they do.0 -

LOL I can sympathize. My knees crack like they are broken!0 -
Same here. Sometimes even following the modifier is really tough. Other times, I can keep up with everyone else. It all depends on the move.0

I haven't tried any of the workout dvd's yet. I was wondering if it would be too much. I'm training for a half marathon (it's April 3) and I've been running3-4 times a week with one rest day, one stretch and strength day, and one cross training day(which I usually spin or walk). So, what would you guys do? Skip the dvd's until after the half marathon or not?0

I would probably skip. The DVD's made me really sore the first week to two after I started them. They get easier, but since you are training for a specific purpose, maybe its best to wait if what your doing now is working for you.0 -

Having been a daily runner in my past, you are burning plenty of calories. If you are using the containers you will see a significant change in your weight and speed.By the time you do your 1/2.I sooooo miss running. it's been almost 2 yrs0

How do we know it's working? When our bodies are screaming in pain, but good pain!0

Thanks Gayle! I agree, running burns a ton of calories. I'm half way through my training and I have noticed a change in my speed since I started, about 6 weeks ago. I'm not really looking to reach a certain time (minute/mile), although, it would be great to beat the time from my first 1/2, even if it's only a minute. I'm older now and the training has definitely been more challenging. My first round of 21DayFix ends on Sunday and I'm looking forward to what the scale says. This weekend will be tough, though, as I'll be going to a local Winter Festival with lots of chili to sample and perhaps a beer or two. I will continue with the containers for another 21 days.0
