I am like ravenously hungry even after I eat. Today I ate over a hundred grams of fat and I still feel like I could eat.

It's probably my brain, but man it's hard to ignore.

How do you guys tell your brain to stfu? :D

Is this your first week or two of low carbs? [If it is, I recommend that people don't restrict anything but carbs for these two weeks and eat until they are uninterested in food. Your body is going through enough with adaptation to force an energy shortage on it as well.]

What are your macros? [Specifically your carb and total calorie goal as it relates to your estimated TDEE. If you're not sure about your TDEE, it is the total calories number the keto-calculator gives you after activity level.]

100g of fat is not a lot for most people here (if I had a goal it would be 220+g/day when I am maintaining).

I eat much more than 100 grams of fat. It's not bad for you. Eat until you are full. @FIT_Goat has some great advice.

Peeked at your diary. Looks good. Plenty of protein -- high satiety.

I assume you're exercising a bunch since you're getting "bonus" calories. If so, some studies show that shorter duration (less than 30 mins) and higher intensity = less hunger.

But if my brain says HUNGRY, I eat. If it says CRAVING, I try to figure out why and then eliminate that trigger (unless it's chocolate, then I just eat it). :)

I wear my Fitbit!! I haven't workout out in like a week! lol. Just my usual walking around the house, stores and walking the dogs (short walks).

I can't figure it out if it's a craving or my brain telling me I'm hungry lol

The carnivore method to tell hunger from craving/boredom. Think of the meat you dislike the most. For me, it is pork loin. I like it, well enough, but it is never my first choice. If that was your only option, would you devour it? If you find yourself eager for even your least favorite meat, you're hungry. If you feel disgusted by it and don't want that, instead you want something sweet or salty or whatever it is you as hungry for, then you're craving and not really hungry.

Still can't tell? Go eat some fatty meat. Worst case scenario, you weren't really hungry and that won't really set you back all that far.

Yep brand new (again) to low carb. This is my second day. Hmmm here are a few of the options the keto calculator gave me. When I am exercising I usually workout 4-5 days a week 30-45 minutes. I wear a heart rate monitor, my heart rate is pretty high even though I'm only doing aerobic type workouts. Gives me a calories burned estimate of about 300-450 depending on the time. I'd like to lose weight but I hate feeling hungry :p

Amazing way to figure it out!! Brilliant!

    Thank you!!

With that level of exercise, I would never go less than moderately active. I might even go higher, if I spend a lot of time on my feet. After you adapt (give it a few weeks), you'll find out if the keto-calculator is a good estimate for your real calorie needs. I find that it consistently under-estimates my real needs. Some people find it over-estimates. Each person is different.

This is part of why I think people should eat to the hunger at first. The data you get from that, both in weight change and in satiety, will give you a better indication of your real calorie goal. Every calculator is just an estimate. What you find from your own experience is better than any of them for your own needs.

Again, a perfect way of explaining it!! That way I'd be able to know for sure how much I could eat without gaining or how much it takes to gain.

    Thanks again!!
