In case anyone is having a down, argh why isn't this working moment: looking back at my weight data over the last 170 days I can see a staircase. My weight flat lines for 15 to 30 days before it drops for a week to 30 days then does the same flat unresponsive frustrating pause. Seeing that data, for me, makes the pause, just that, a pause. Hope knowing that helps someone be patient and kind to themselves, if they get long pauses too. 4 drops, 4 pauses so far.

I have a similar cycle. I have a week of losses and then I stall for 2-3 weeks. As long as the long term trend is moving down I'm happy! :)

Same here! But for me the pause happens after every new low. Don't like it, but it is what it is!

I am a data junkie so hearing other people's normal, like @ Anglyn1 is very inspiring for me. I hope that it helps others see a range of normals and ride through frustrating flats. @Sunny_Bunny do you have a predictable cycle or unpredictable steps like me, or some other normal fluctaution.

Here is my weight loss graph from the past year on LCHF. The big increase last June was from my body reacting negatively to sugar free coffee syrup! I haven't posted the jumps back up lately. Trend is down, which is good!

I only log losses. It's a mind game, of course. Must keep the id happy.

I mostly have a normal cycle, but there were several months recently where it was all whacky. Attributing to hormonal changes with my improving health.
Unpredictable steps or other normal fluctuation? I don't think I understand what you're asking?

@Sunny_Bunny_ some folk apparently loose in first 2 weeks of a monthly cycle then pause n repeat. Predictable, neat. Me, i can loose weight for 1 week or a whole month then nothing for 2-4 weeks. Thus a chart looks like unven steps for me. Just curious if yours is unpredictable with pauses or cyclic or another way better describes your losses

Love this post! A roller coaster perfectly depicts the ups and downs reflected on my scale.

It hadn't occurred to me to log the gains but I will now. Great way to see patterns

I tend to lose in "whooshes" too. I will maintain or lose slowly then all of a sudden i drop a few pounds in a matter of days. I will bounce up again but it will mostly stay below where the whoosh began. I like to weigh most days because of that. If I just weighed once a week I might weigh on a low day one week and then on a high day the next and think that I am not losing. If I see all days, I know the overall trend s downwards.... Or at least plateaued if I haven't been actively trying to lose lately.
