Hang in there. It's possible your body is just multitasking right now. When it's done, I bet you'll finally see a loss.
I don't think it's really a mini stall, not the way I define mini at least. I think it's a stall stall. I haven't lost anything (that has stayed off) since before Christmas. Carb creep, stress, possibly some food reactions... I'm going to tighten the reins and see what happens. Thanks for the encouragement!!0 -

Thank you for pointing that out. Lately I have been feeling like I'm just floating through life without really living it. I've got two jobs, working on a 3rd and a 4th (yes, I'm that crazy, but #s 3 and 4 will replace #2 and maybe, hopefully, eventually, #1), 3 young kids at home, a teenager I'm planning a trip to go visit next month, and a husband who I barely have any awake time with. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my life, my career, my family... but I need time to breathe, alone time with a good book, a date with my husband, girlfriends I can spend an afternoon with shopping and getting pedicures, more time playing with my kids, and so on. Every week I think back and wonder what I accomplished that week, what my highlights were, and lately I haven't even been able to pinpoint anything I've done thoroughly. I have conversations with people that later seem like dreams or fleeting thoughts. I haven't had any real connection with anyone in what seems like a very very long time. *sigh* This vacation is exactly what I need. Only 4 more weeks.....0 -
I think I'm going to increase my carb goal for a bit.
I'm off any MS med right now (had a bad reaction to my old med when I re-started after missing 4 days b/c of insurance hangup; currently waiting to get first dose observation of new med scheduled but that might take a few weeks) so I'm going to try to follow the Wahls Protocol principles to possibly provide some protection while I'm off the meds. It is actually an LCHF diet and I think her strictest stage is even considered ketogenic but that stage includes 6 cups/day of vegetables and a little fruits from certain categories, so I want to allow for that. This also means cutting out dairy. I'll try ...
Anyone make BPC with coconut oil plus full-fat coconut milk? She does approve of those two. I tried it that way this morning and it wasn't bad, though for my lunchtime coffee I got lazy and used HWC.
ETA: Reviewing now since I read the book before knowing much about keto, and she does want you in ketosis in her strictest stage, "Wahls Paleo Plus," even though you're supposed to include 6-9 cups/day of produce. We'll see how this goes.0 -
My random check-in, but at least I am keeping track of my week! So far pertty good...
Drop 2 lbs – 1.2 (all water weight for certain)
No alcohol on weekdays – yes, yes, yes, so far yes
Do something active every day – Walk, Nothing, legs/butt video, arms video/walking
Carbs under 50 – No, yes, yes, so far yes
Positive attitude – No, No, No, better today so far
Tonight I am headed to a going away party for a co-worker. It is at a Mexican restaurant in the outdoor bar. I anticiapte lots of chips and salsa and other appetizers will be sitting out. Maybe I can just snag a bowl of guacamole, grab a spoon and claim it as my own . I also plan to not drink anything besides club soda and lime. Now it's in writing I have to follow though!0 -

This was supposed to be a warm week but it was frigid! I want to spend some time outside but every time I go out, it's just, "Never mind!"
Tomorrow it's supposed to be around 50º, which would be lovely. I am going to a writing workshop in the morning that's 45 minutes away, and then three hours later a write-in ten minutes from there, so I'll be out all day rather than drive all the way back home in between. I think I'm in a good place to work on my manuscript in between, so that's a great session to look forward to. With any luck there'll be a spot outside I can sit, but if it's breezy at all I may just take a walk in between. Shame that the nice day is the one I'll be sitting indoor!
Today I decided not to wear makeup, and I used coconut oil instead of face cream. I want to see what happens with my skin if I stop applying toxicants to it. I'm thinking 100% shea butter for my body cream. Doc Bronner's castille soap for showering. Argan or coconut oil in place of conditioner.
I'd really like to find at least a natural option for my eyebrows, but the stuff I currently use (and love, and was about to re-order) has: Talc, Isododecane, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Polyethylene, Cyclopentasiloxane, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Titanium Dioxide, Aminopropyl Dimethicone, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Phenyl Trimethicone, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Lecithin, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Tocopheryl Acetate, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Propylene Carbonate, Hexylene Glycol
I mean, look at that crap! Your skin is an organ, and it absorbs materials more effectively than your digestive system. Why would we rub that kind of chemical soup on ourselves?? It's a wonder I haven't turned into the Joker.
Maybe I'll start staining my nails with Henna instead of using polish (my husband's jaw will fall off at that one).

Well if you need to up carbs, those are the best ones to raise.
I've heard good things about Wahl's Protocol. I have a friend on a low-carb forum who used it for awhile and had good results.0 -
Brief update for me. I started taking some samples from the opthamalogist of Restasis. And I'm on the second day. I had no close calls last night and only woke twice to apply eye drops. I went to get the prescrip while I was in town Wed and they didn't even have it in the system. So I probably won't get to feel the burn in the wallet until next week. I have a discount card. It's going to be around $475 for 90 days. I'm not sure how much of a discount I'll get. I've been researching and apparently if you are careful and don't contaminate the dropper, you can get a whole day or 2 out of the vial instead of just one dose (twice a day prescip). So that will cut the cost a little. I got 1.5 days out of the first vial before I got paranoid and tossed it. There are no preservatives in it, so you have to be careful about bacteria.
Anyway. I'm doing ok with calories. Keeping my net carbs as close as I can to 20g net seems to help a little. Still not losing. But whatever. KCKO. My strength training has been delayed a day. The sun came out and it was almost 50 yesterday. The kids wanted to play outside and due to errands in the next town over (orthodonitist for oldest girl) we got home around 4pm. So hopefully I'll rope ds11 in today to do it. THIS is why I prefer to workout alone. I don't have to put up with other people's excuses. I can just get it done. So it'll be arms today, dammit!
I stopped taking all of my vites and supplements for a few days. I was taking 15. No real difference in fatigue level. I added back the probiotic and the ginko biloba (ADD and focus issues thanks to my brief stint with antidepressants ). I'm not taking anything else right now. My old doc (the one I went to years ago, but also the one who put me on those devil-meds) left the practice so I need to find someone else to go get an appt and bloodwork. (Keep in mind I haven't had a check-up in 3 years.) I dread trying to convince someone I need a lot of things investigated. I'm sure they'll mention the dreaded antidepressants. I'M NOT DEPRESSED! FOR THE LOVE OF DAIRY, PEOPLE! The person I have marked is actually an NP. She seems to listen anyway when I'm in the clinic for ear infections or other stuff with the kiddos that happens on the weekends so the ped isn't available. I just need to suck it up and make the appt. I'll have to have the oldest babysit all the kids though. Meh. She can do it. I just don't want to have to do that to her. My littlest is a pill right now.
I just want to climb back into bed right now. As usual. Nevermind that I was driven out of bed because of dry eyes, kid noise, and inability to sleep. :rolling my eyes at my own nonsense ova here:0 -

Neat. I'm seriously thinking about using my CO for moisturizer too. This flaky-skin BS is on my last nerve. Every lotion has greasy, gross sunscreen in it.
If you find any reasonable henna-stain let me know. I've stopped painting my nails for awhile because the polish was just wrecking my already brittle nails. I miss my colorful nails.0 -
1. Avoid food waste/too much eating out
2. Get 7 hours of sleep a night
3. Drop another 2-3lb before the end of the month
4. Send out at least one resume a week
On Wednesday my water heater exploded, soaking my whole condo, so there went #1 and #2. Wednesday night I got a lettuce-wrapped burger from mcdonalds, because cooking dinner (even popping food into the microwave) was beyond my strength. Yesterday, after I finished cleaning up the disaster, my Dad took us to a celebratory dinner at the local Argentinian steak house, and I stuffed myself on sweatbreads, intestines, tongue and other weird cow parts, which were delicious. I stayed within my calories and within my macros, mainly because I skipped food for most of the day. My work is super stressful right now, I am freaking out because even with two jobs I am not making enough money and all the resumes I send out go into the black hole. I am not sleeping well and I didn't have time to work out the last three days, I work the whole weekend, plus on top of that my prospective in-laws are coming to town today. I am just glad I am keeping away from sugar so far, but man, this stress is a recipe for a binge. I am trying to take it one day at a time, and hopefully get through this week and next - at least the water heater is fixed. I have a feeling stress will derail #3, but we shall find out on Monday. I am praying for a loss, even a pound or two would be a nice bright spot in a fairly miserable patch.0 -

I was thinking of trying something like this: http://ohsohalal.com.au/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=215
But really before I started looking I was going to buy standard henna at whole foods or something, and just mask off my nails and stain them weekly to reach a deep color.

Thanks, @baconslave! Still trying to talk myself into giving up dairy but I'm working toward increasing the veg/fruits from the different categories. Glad you've heard good things about Wahls!

Maintained my runs and weight training for the week. However, I splurged with a more carb heavy dinner time last night since we were celebrating my birthday with family. I'm planning to really push more water this week and my goal is to get in 3 runs this week. I'm going to work on my stretches a bit more this week too since on Saturday I will have auditions for a dance team that I did last year, and hopefully will be selected again this year.0

February has been a roller-coaster month for me. Lost 1.6 pounds this past week, but that's half of what I gained back this month - so the only win is that I'm back on track but still behind where I started the month. Hoping for a better week in week 4!0
-
1. Under 30 net carbs daily/50 net special occasions (Daughter turns 21 on Valentine's Day) ✔
2. Exercise of some sort 3-4 days each week with one of those being outdoors if possible. ✔
I did some resistance bands one evening. Took a hike Saturday. Cleaned the house some on Sunday. It's a start.
3. Pay more attention to budget and meal planning. Last month there were too many meals out. ✔
4. Do something relaxing each day like reading or coloring. ✔
5. Clean and organize the house better. Implement a daily chore list. No daily chores but I did get a good bit of stuff done.
Lost 0.2 pounds. Better than nothing!0 -
1. Avoid food waste/too much eating out - check. Stayed within my limits
2. Get 7 hours of sleep a night - No. So much stress and things to do with work and in-laws coming to town
3. Drop another 2-3lb before the end of the month - So far I doubled that.
4. Send out at least one resume a week - no, see #2
On to week #4!0
