Introducing myself

Hi! My name Is Sue and I am finally serious about losing fat again. I used to live an Atkins lifestyle and slimmed down. I stopped being careful and gained a bunch of weight back (a lot of the eating was emotional, I admit). I've been trying to restart for a while and decided to focus on LCHF this time rather than specifically Atkins.
Random Sue bits:
I'm an urban high school English teacher so I stress a lot.
I'm married to an Episcopal priest so I encounter a lot of unhealthy foods.
I'm competitive, so seeing other people do well motivates me to do well too. (Hence my FitBit)
I'm feeling alone in this, which is demotivating and why I'm seeking community.

Teaching is a huge factor in my own stress eating. It doesn't help that there tends to be a lot of sugary and carby foods at work.0

Welcome Sue from another Sue. You are not alone here. Many supportive honest friends who have personally supported me in the ups and downs. LCHF is unique for us all and the amount of non judgemental help is extensive.
Welcom0 -

Welcome! I agree you have come to a good place.
I had to smile at "I'm married to an Episcopal priest so I encounter a lot of unhealthy foods." (I'm married to a pastor. )0 -
Welcome! I felt pretty much alone in this too until I found help here.0

Hello and welcome, Sue! I, too, had great success before, though with LCHF rather than Atkins. I fell off the wagon over the holidays. I'm back, as of yesterday, and already I'm reminded what a wonderful group this is. You'll find both great support and friendly competition here.
I'm a stay-at-home-mom of 3 little kids, the oldest of whom is in first grade. My husband is a programmer, and we attend a Methodist church with constantly available carbs and sugar. I can only imagine how much of that stuff you're hit with as a priest's wife. Lead us not into temptation... ;-)0 -
I'm sorry to see I'm not alone with the church food, lol!
Thank you all for being so welcoming!0 -
welcome sue!
