This threadstarter pretty much sums up my state of mind right now.

Had a kind of miserable run but a good session with Jason last night. Rest day today.

LOL story of my life last few months. Every day I wake up and say today is the day I will eat healthy and exercise and be positive in mind....

Went to gym yesterday did yoga class, swam and rare sunny perfect day before 2 more weeks of rain so we went to beach and to light house with a ton of steps to another beach, then out to Thai.

Had a good day except eating. Today hope to go for walk before rain starts, then have dental cleaning, the other day was meeting the dentist, I guess he doesn't work Friday so I had to split up.

    Lol threadstarter is perfect!

Laura, sounds like carb cycling. Maybe visit some bodybuilding websites for inspiration...bodybuilders are good at maximizing nutrition. They would eat stuff like fish, chicken breast, very lean meat, with broccoli, cauliflower, etc on those protein days and then add sweet potatoes, oatmeal, brown rice on the carb days. I think the trick is in spicing it up with stuff that's not too calorific. So like lemon instead of butter or chees on veggies. Good luck with getting back into it mentally...I think it's the hardest part.

Marla, that's a great idea to get the free trial during a rainy stretch. But definitely is pricey to join. If you can hide time for the other to open, that's def a good plan. Hope u get ur bike fixed too.

Sorry I was Mia yesterday. It was the holiday and a long day. We ate grill meat for the holiday and ice cream. It was hard to retroactively log afterwards and prob not too accurate. Oh well, only once per year.

Today I had a throbbing headache til just this past hour. Skipped tutor (he used FaceTime to her instead), which helped with my headache and helped avoid a freak rainstorm. Glad it's Friday, even if the party weekend may end up taking a toll on me. I'll just have to get to the gym Monday to start anew.

I don't want to be that structured.

I actually don't put butter on veggies. I'll periodically use a small amount of cheese but I sprinkle some shred cheese on the top right at the end of baking, so it's not like a cheese sauce. Also those sites always use food combinations I would never use -- like putting lemon on veggies. I feel a little gaggy just thinking about it. :)

Well, of course you have to like it. I'm sure you'll find exactly what's best for you. In Greece we put lemon on all vegetables, potatoes in the oven for example, and boiled zucchini, etc. But they also make egg-lemon sauce for meatballs and for dolmades (rice in grape leaves), so a lot of very very strange and different cuisine that takes time to get used to. I fell in love with this way, even if it sounded weird at first.
