Hey all! I'm sorry I was MIA since Wednesday! That day went fine and then right at dinner temp started to go up and up and up and up. Leading to a massive sore throat that left me so miserable I could only wallow and a high fever. Still have a scratchy throat but it has improved marginally every day. Didn't get much training done this week for obvious reasons which I found a bit frustrating. On the flip side, I managed to stay on top of things...at least the important stuff so I didn't come out of the illness feeling completely overwhelmed.
As far as stress, I really cracked down on the kids while I was sick. I need them to do the few chores I give them consistently without me having to stand over them (which defeats the purpose). I've been taking toys away...permanently...that they don't pick up. This week they are only wearing playing white shirts and no fancy outfits because they wouldn't fold their clothes (I don't ever require folding...just sorting and stuffing in the correct drawers). They've started to be much better about doing their part and just those few things being cleared off my brain has made things run much more smoothly. I'm also chucking more at the hubby.
Today I'm going to try and take a quick jog after my evening activities. Just a light one to get back into things.
As for the costume conversation, I dress up for comic con every year. Which of course outs me as a huge geek. I don't actually dress up for Halloween though. My kids do, and then we have a big trunk we shove them in and they use them as dress up clothes the rest of the year.
Laura - I've started to do the same thing. I was stressed about counting calories and binging. So I'm trying to just be purposeful when I eat and about what I eat instead of counting calories.
I'm off to get ready. Have a great start to your week everyone!0 -
Heeelllllooo everybody!
I'm going back to doing what works, including posting on this thread.
I'm about the same weight as I was at the start of the year. At least I stopped the bleeding (i.e., gaining!).
Good news:
Went to cardiologist last week and got a good report.
Have a new trainer to kick my booty before the crack of dawn every Friday.
Getting motivated!

Val sorry you got sick, glad you are better. When your kids are older and self sufficient unlike friends who live in slop houses they will be grateful
April, happy to see you back! Great news about heart.
Weather changed and we have no rain today until tonight so i went for long walk the one that goes down to beach.
After my week of writing foods down only to have it worse not better, i am working on what is causing my emotional eating instead of focusing on calories. One day, one meal at a time.
I feel better though mentally and that is helping!
