My dairy experiment

I did an experiment with dairy for 10 days. It left me a little sad. I cut out cream, cream cheese, cheese, my homemade yogurt and kefir. I kept butter and my bedtime whey shake. My calories an the days I tracked were the same as usual. My carbs were about the same. I lost a little shy of 5 lbs. I'm a slow looser in general so I was shocked. I'm glad but a bit sad to say good bye to the creamy yummy dairy!!!

I am going to continue with no dairy besides butter and my bedtime shake too see if it was a fluke or not.

You can also test yourself with the different options of cheese to see if it's a particular type of cheese vs another that affects you! Self experimentation is pretty cool with this woe! Thanks for the update, and congratulations on the weight loss!!

Interesting. I hope you find you can eventually add back some of your favourite dairy.

I went dairy free for almost two years when I was recovering from celiac disease. Once I was healed I was able to add back some dairy, mainly foods low in lactose. I do okay with hard cheese. My body starts to complain if there is much cream or soft cheese though.

When it comes to dairy, I have heard all sorts of results. People gain weight, lose weight, feel better, feel worse...etc. It really is an individual thing. Sorry you feel you have to give it up.

I have a friend who has been hard core paleo for 3 years (not keto) but couldn't drop the last 10 pounds. She claims she added yogurt to daily meal, and presto lost the weight. I am losing weight fine while still eating a bit of dairy daily, so I think I am fine.

I don't really feel I absolutely have to give it up. I felt the same. I just shed some fast pounds. However if it I see the same results after a few weeks of dairy free it would be worth the sacrifice too me. I was losing ok with it just slowly. I had read about some tweaks for women with the plan I use and dairy free was a suggestion.
