Has anyone tried the diet doctor 2 week challenge? My husband and I are considering giving it a go in April.

I haven't looked into the details, but it looks like a decent start.
Why wait? Why not do it now?0 -

The problem with these sorts of reasons, they are too frequent and often prevent anyone from ever starting. Of course, that might not be the case here. Good luck, when you do start.0 -
my hubby and I did this a few weeks ago and it was good. We were already doing LCHF eating but it introduced some new recipes and took away the problem of what's for dinner and who is cooking. It was a break we enjoyed and did re-focus us a little.0

Yeah we do low carb already anywhere from 70 to 100 a day. We were just looking to go lower still and it seemed like an interesting challenge. He's always on board for anything I want to do. I've already lost 80+ pounds and am rounding my last 20 some pounds and he's lost over 100. He only wanted to wait because once you start the challenge it says not to go out and my entire family meets for both their birthdays and celebrates them so waiting will appease everyone. When he says we will do it he means it. His only real reluctance is he doesnt understand how someone can lose weight while not counting the calories so he's reluctant and is worried we will back slide.0

You can tell him I didn't count calories at all while doing keto. I would log them [sometimes], but if I wanted a 4,000 calorie day then I had it. The average tended to work out to be a deficit my body could safely handle. And, it slowly slid into maintenance near the end. You don't need to count. He could totally track the calories, if it makes him feel better, but if he is hungry then he should eat. Often, you might eat heavy on one day and find the next couple will be low enough to balance it out. It does work, when the carbs are low enough.0

Lol, that reminds me of those excuses we all make why we can't break up with a bad boyfriend (or girlfriend). Maybe after the holidays, maybe after Valentine's Day, maybe after his birthday, maybe after ... what ever. But truthfully if you're not ready, you're not ready.0 -

i was the same way. i had a day in mind to start, and i wasn't ready until then.
it wasn't an excuse, it was just in my head, that was my start date. my dog had to have surgery, and the week was very stressful. I knew there was no way I could take on something new until after I knew she was going to be ok. So I chose a Friday, and I started and haven't looked back. Personally I don't think there's anything wrong with waiting for a certain date. If it helps you stick to it Then that is the best way to go about it.0 -
Yeah, at least he's honest enough to know he wouldn't stick to it on his birthday. He doesn't even want to go really high carb that day he just wants to be able to eat 1 ice cream cup cake from cold stone creamery for his b-day and the challenge says for those 2 weeks to not eat out.0

I think the warning about not eating out is for people who have trouble with temptation. (I know, I know). You two have lost so much weight that I suspect you would not have any trouble sticking to plan when out as long as LCHF items were available. I did lose a lb a week after a long stall when doing this challenge but I was already on the plan. For us, it got the sweenteners and nuts out. For newbies to LCHF, it would have a more profound effect.0
