Thoughts on yogurt?

I know years ago when I was doing Atkins/low carb, once I was far enough along, I added in yogurt and strawberries. There was some article about the yogurt not actually counting as the full carb count because of some specific reason (for the life of me can't remember what).
I'm talking full fat, unsweetened yogurt - I tend to only use the Astro Balkan style, and sweeten it a bit with Davinci syrup. Slice up my strawberries, and lately I've added some chopped almonds for crunch (kinda helps with the missing granola part)
Anybody else?
I'm not finding it stalls me, nor does it send me on a quest for more sweet stuff.....

I do a little bit in my chia pudding in the morning to add some creaminess - but I make my own from 18% cream and leave it "baking" long enough to get it pretty tangy. Presumably the bacteria have munched up a lot of the lactose so the carbs are lower.0

The idea of not fully counting yogurt carbs doesn't make much sense to me. As a diabetic, the blood glucose affect of those yogurt carbs was very quickly evident, and I used to eat plain unsweetened yogurt, no fruit or sugar added. In fact, I may as well have eaten a piece of fruit instead, that's how quickly yogurt hits my blood sugar, so I wouldn't have chosen to disregard or minimise the impact of those carbs on my diet.0
