Hey Peops
It's a special week....Only three workdays ;-) and today is the second anniversary of having to say goodbye to my horse and best friend. So in his honor here is a pic from his 25th birthday in 2012.
Having their 'carrot cake' and eating it too ;-)
First fast day this week. Food is down the hatch. Off to tai chi later so all is good. Thinking of doing a B2B instead fasting on Wednesday. Thursday is not an option this week.

Beautiful horse x. Am having a down day. Managed to put 3lb on over the weekend I wasn't really bad but did have a couple of treats. Have now sabotaged my fast day by having a bad day at work which resulted in mindlessly eating boiled sweets and a packet of crisps. Will probably also have a glass of wine that is calling me in the fridge! fed up thatI've gone backwards and that it will probably take me this week to get the 3lb back off. Grrrrr0

The 3lb over the weekend are mostly water. I do that each weekend ;-) Can you fast tomorrow? Anyway, one bad fast does not mean failure. It happens to all of us. Get back on the train, but don't beat yourself up. (I have to tell myself that every now and again too )0

Beautiful, happy horse flumi.
Starting my second week on 5:2. Limited myself to 500 cals last Monday and Thursday, and kept a little under my TDEE the other 5 days. I was thrilled to see the scale showing my weight was down 3.2 lbs at the 1 week mark. Maybe water weight but I'll take it.
Today is my 3rd fast day. My daughter and her friends are visiting from college and I'll be making Thai curry chicken for them tonight -- steeling myself to eat my so-far successful broccoli slaw for dinner instead of the delicious curry. I think I can, I think I can, I yhink I can ...

Good fd all! Flumi sorry for your loss. Much of my childhood and teen years were spent on my gma's horse ranch. Some of my dearest memories revolve around those beautiful creatures.
@Donwilks without the bad days how would we recognize our successes? You are trying and that's what counts, not how fast you get it done, but that it gets done. Just think, tomorrow is a new day!

My 3rd fast day was good and bad. I stayed pretty close to CALs but admit I went over a bit. Hubs was off and had dinner cooked when I got home tonight (stewed tumeric sirloin tips). While it was yummy, it's hard to calc CALs. All in all didn't stay at 500 but was close enough that I will accept it as a WIn (with only 2 cap letters instead of 3). I'll just make sure to undershoot a day or two by a hundred.
Good news: hubs recently began Atkins so at least it only included things I can eat anyway (I'm hflc). So excited for him.0 -

My first fast day is done - 400 calories. Planning for a 48 hour fast from Tuesday night to Thursday night since I can never fast on a Friday. I'm excited to be back in the groove. 150's here I come!0

Oh shoot. I'm over by 70 cal. Bummer. I like how I feel when I fast. But I was making granola bars for my daughter and before I knew it, I was nibbling the crumbs up from cutting them. I know it's not the end of the world, but I am mad because I was doing it from one of those 'can't leave any waste' sort of mindset. The bars are quite expensive to make and it's hard to toss any of it.

Keep your heads up! Low fasts are still a bonus So kid number two is now sick so I'm running around again. Gave into my monthly cravings over the weekend but feel better now that I've started. Have had two low days but no successful fasts yet. And planning Easter egg buying tomorrow for the kids. Kids officially off Friday for two weeks so I'll be pleased not to gain too much during that time. Signs of spring are keeping my spirits up. @flumi_f I love your picture, beautiful memories! And don't let the boys Bring you down! Oooh my little girl is watching Frozen...let it go, let it go... Very fitting0

Somehow my post from today got lost. A good fast on Monday and a low day on Tuesday. Worked a half day today and now off until Monday! Yay! Had a wonderful ride on my care horse this afternoon. Weighed in at 60.5kg after my 1.5 fasts...haven't been there in a while. Now I just have to keep my days off in check and earn some extra cals with exercise. Next fast on Tuesday. Might throw in an 16:8 day or two to help.

Today is my fourth FD total. So far so good. I've seen some downward movement in the scale. I have been "overeating" on my FD - I've been averaging between 550 - 600 cal. I do exercise on my FD (my usual routine, 40 - 45 minutes of cardio and another 10 - 15 minutes of strength) and still limit my food intake on my non-fasting days (well...at least 3 of them...weekends are a wildcard...beer is good) so I try to tell myself that negates the extra calories but I'm still pretty grumpy at myself.0

FD #2 done but 785 calories. Splurge was on breakfast - couldn't turn down a free burrito. Plan on a FD tomorrow too.0

4th fd today. So far so good...except... Snacks bandits have struck again! I came in this morning to find a large Easter basket full of peanut butter eggs and mini snicker bars on the cabinet at the end of my desk! Along with a box of gourmet cookies left over from a board meeting last night. What in the world are they trying to do to me? Proud to say I have not had either goodie. I may or may not have picked up a shiny package to look at it..but put it right back. Yay me
Alas, my dark chocolate is calling my name now. May go over a little on the CALs today. But Really trying not to.0 -

Had great success this week w/ 1 true fast day (Monday - 480 cal), and 1.5 semi fast days (Tues evening thru Thurs evening, 1100 calories. I dropped off 4 lbs and am within .5 lb of my quarterly goal! Next week gets me over the finish line.0
