Study behind the article above.

I posted this under the Health Debate heading on the main forums.

This is something we have known for years but did not have evidence how the subconscious thoughts changed our gene expression.

Some who were less than positive about ketosis are actually talking about the value of ketones in an open way in a debate thread. Some new people there are very positive about LCHF. As more doctors are moving people to LCHF. I have been supporting find a macro that will stop carb cravings then count the calories and got less flack than I expected. I have been posting for 18 months now and I think that helps.

I was excited to read about ongoing eptgenetics research.

I love how everything I hear about in a podcast comes around again from another source within days. Lol
I don't remember which one I was listening to. But the discussion was about epigenetics and it was very interesting.

Belief and hope are very underrated variables IMO. I wish I was more religious. There must be a reason why billions practice faith in some way or another.

About focus and perspective. Personally, I experienced major changes in my moods and general outlook when I started focusing on being grateful for the things in my life that are good, instead of nagging my mind down with everything that doesn't work. Entitlement breeds unhappiness. If there's something I can't change, I have to take a conscious choice.

Letting frustrating events keep poisoning your mind is not productive. It sounds banal, but either take an adult choice to accept the frustration or let it go. Nagging about things you can't change doesn't solve anything, IMO.

Small things I appreciate, fresh bed sheets. I always say to myself "why don't I do this more often" :p

Set yourself up for success, not failure.

@Foamroller we have to be careful about being more religious because all religion is not based the good of others but I know what you meant and enjoyed the points you made.

Epigenetics and the effect of prayer/religion may be related I expect. I find knowing we are not the victim of our DNA to be awesome. Below is a link you may find interesting and I am sure the same applies to other groups as well. It does mention AA.

From all the threads in this group, I'd say many, many in this group feel the sunny hope Lowcarb gives us. I was pretty desperate before this woe. It's not a cure all, but it certainly helped me in more ways than just weight loss. I know more from all my experimenting what works or not. Not all carbs are created equal in my case.

Going lowcarb and fasting gave me actual hope and belief that I could help myself. That's powah, if you ask me. I'll stay lowcarb in some fashion for life, I think. Cause I know what happens when I don't. According to science placebo can have up to 40 % effect on outcome. That's why negative self talk is so insidious. Lowcarb gave me the tools to be able to physically and mentally start repairing my relationship with food. It's a see saw, but I now truly believe I'll get there some day.
