Dumb question - running with/without glasses?

I typically wear contacts, but I have some eye irritation right now and I'm supposed to keep my contacts out for a week or so.

I tried going for a run this weekend with my glasses - it really didn't go well. The sun/glare was uncomfortable, they felt weird on my face, they slid down my nose a little. It wasn't unbearable, and I suppose I COULD just keep running with them - maybe I'll get used to it?

Do you run with your glasses? Do you run blind?

I run blind. I have a horrible time running with my glasses. They are uncomfortable because they move around and they sometimes fog up. I can see well enough to get by, but I have on occasion waved hello to a mailbox or two. My husband wears his glasses when he runs. Personal choice, I guess.

I run without glasses. My issue is astigmatism so I can still see enough to make do between both eyes and moving around. If my vision was bad enough I would have to invest in some special frames/lenses to run with, I imagine.

It's funny, I can run with SUNglasses, but I guess they're sports sunglasses, so they're made not to slide or feel weird or fog up.

I think I'll try running blind. I'm not BLIND blind, I can see well enough to avoid hazards.

I'm 20/700, so if they ever change the big E on the eye chart I'll get it wrong. I actually prefer running with my glasses over contacts since the sweat burns my eyes with my contacts. I found the key is to make sure they fit snug around the ear and they wont slide. If it's cold out and I'm worried about fog I use a product called Fogtech.

I almost always run with my glasses (unless I'm wearing contacts, of course). The exception is if it's raining hard and I can't see, then I take them off.

I wear my glasses a lot so they don't feel weird at all.

I used to run/play with REC Specs. They are made specifically for active use. I always had issues with contacts (I tried every brand/style ever made) and my regular glasses had the same issues (not comfy, hurt nose, etc).

About 10 years ago I fixed my contacts/glasses problems permanently. LASIK is a wonderful thing. :)

BTW - I always wear sunglasses. The brand I have been wearing (Tifosi) also accepts prescription lenses. I really wish I would have had that option when I had a prescription.

I wear my glasses to run, but don't have a sun issue most of the time because they are photo-sensitive. If I know it's going to be raining/snowing/otherwise messy, I'll wear my older pair so I can just change into my clean current prescription when I'm done. This is more important if I'm driving somewhere to run than if I'm running from my driveway.

i also have photochromic prescription glasses i wear permanently.
i bought 4+ optical goggles for swimming too, maybe an optician/large walmart etc can recommend lightweight optical sports frames.
mine were £20($30) from asda/walmart opticians.

I wear sunglasses, all the time (obvi, I don't run outside in the dark). I wear contacts and find the shades cut any wind/irritation. Plus, I'm pretty photophobic and wear sunglasses outside almost all the time.

I'm 20/500...pretty sure I'd somehow die trying to run without corrective lenses - LOL! I can barely find my alarm clock in the morning.

I've got the auto tinting glasses and generally will run with them. I find I -have- to wear a buff, visor, or hat and I tuck the ends of the arms into whatever I'm wearing to stop them sliding off my face.
I'll run with contacts and sunnies now and then, but I seem to have a habit of losing a contact if I try to rub sweat out of my eyes.

I'm too blind to safely do runs without contacts or glasses, unless it's a closed course or a foot path type deal with no road crossings.
