Blood work concern...

Hello all!
I am relatively new to this group (and Keto) so please forgive me if this has been discussed many times already.
On the 18th of this month I have a appointment for an agility test, drug test, and full blood work as part of the hiring process for a state job that I have been offered.
I have now been on a pretty strict Keto diet for 3 weeks today. I am wondering if I need to worry about anything showing up in my blood work that may prevent me from getting the job? (e.g. high cholesterol) I had a full blood work done about 4 months ago (before Keto) and everything came back normal, except a slight deficiency in vitamin D.
I'm just hoping someone can ease my mind a little bit. I honestly believe I am doing the best thing for my body by being on this Keto diet, but I'm still concerned about any negative changes in my blood work!
Thanks a million gang!!
One more thing- I'm always looking for moe Keto friends so feel free to ad me

If you are actively losing weight on any diet you might see a bump in cholesterol or triglycerides. I think you will probably be fine however!0

Kenny based on my personal experience with initial negative changes in my LDL I understand your concern but most here do not note what I saw. Over time my numbers all are improved.
I was an older very sick man and who knows what I was dumping into my system out of old store fat cells. I would say the odds are you will be OK but maybe others can be more helpful.0 -

Congrats on the job offer!
Does your job require agility or other specific physical requirements? If not, a public employer demanding blood work seems pretty intrusive into private, possibly genetic, territory. ??0 -

Hey thanks! Yes the job does require minimal (in my opinion) agility and some physical requirements. I am currently a Fedex delivery driver, and I know the new job will come nowhere close to the agility and physical activity that my current job requires!
Yes, it does seem a bit intrusive to me also. But hey, that's New York State for ya!0 -
I guess if they keep your info secure and really are using it for some job-relateted reason, maybe it's not as bad as it first struck me...
In any event, you're coming from a more demanding environment. I'm guessing you'll be enjoying your new job in short order!0 -
Kenny I just shared the below with Ralf on another thread. As you can see some of my numbers went in the wrong direction but again pre Keto my mobility was in a decline, etc.
July 2013 - 36
July 2014 - 38 Pre Keto at this point but started Oct 2014
July 2015 - 56 9 months of Keto
Nov 2015 - 72 13 months of Keto.
LDL / Triglycerides for same 4 periods
155 / 109
146 / 209
323 / 121
228 / 052
Now that we know LDL has no prediction power on heart disease I am waiting on it to drop at some future test.0 -
Good luck with it. I can't imagine any problems besides ketones showing up in a urine test - that's usually an abnormal result for most labs.0
