Do any with VSG experience dumping?

I'm really having a hard time the past couple weeks. I discovered early on that I can't tolerate too much sugar at once. A small taste here or there is fine. The last 2 weeks I've been having a lot of cramping and diarrhea. I'm not taking in sugar and the only thing I can think of might be a protein shake I'm trying to drink to boost my numbers.

Anyone else have foods they can't tolerate?
Thanks!

    For me, it is sugar.

It may be the sugar alcohols in the shake. Maltitol makes me miserable.

I double checked and nothing pops out as sugar alcohol in it (Premier Protein). I agree though, I had trouble years ago with alcohols.

If it's whey protein, it's possible that dairy is bothersome to you. Sometimes Premier Protein shakes make my stomach feel a little funky, but other brands don't. Maybe try switching it up. Pure Protein drinks are pretty good too.

They are whey based. I had given up whey a while ago and I guess now after surgery I may have to again. I will check out Pure Protein...thanks!

Oh geez, the whey protein KILLED me, directly after surgery. I had to switch to soy. I was OK with other forms of dairy, but I had to give away a lot of whey. I'd be interested in trying whey again, just to see if it was temporary.

I wasn't able to drink any form of protein shake without getting violently ill. I found out that most protein powders are manufactured in plants where high allergens are also manufactured. I have a shellfish allergy, so this is the only possible culprit I could find as I could tolerate pure whey like Isopure.

Our bodies, they are weird things.

    Understatement of the century.

I am about 2 1/2 years out, I can use whey protein powders with no problem but once in a while the RTD protein shakes with whey seriously disagree with me. What I can tolerate and what I can't tolerate these days - total crap shoot, sometimes it changes from one day to the next.

It is freaking strange. There are days where I can not get a meal/drink to go or stay down, thats never fun.

I do have rice protein powder that I've tried and it hadn't caused me issues. I may have try it again if I can't do whey anymore. I prefer whey over other, but I don't like the stomach upset! Thanks everyone!
