"Calories don't count." Sound familiar? How about "By following this plan you get better skin condition and resistance to colds and sinus trouble. You also lose weight."

It's a book. Written in 1961. Low carb. High fat.

    I found it interesting for the historical context. The guy was persecuted for going against conventional wisdom. Not much has changed since then.

    The FDA's Larrick went further: "The book is full of false ideas, as many competent medical and nutritional writers have pointed out. Contrary to the book's basic premise, weight reduction requires the reduction of caloric intake. There is no easy, simple substitute. Unfortunately, calories do count."

    Interesting that he believed that PUFAs were the key, was persecuted, and now PUFAs are the "healthy fat" darling.
