Random tidbits of health related stuff of questionable value.

In my health related research I find stuff and re-find stuff that is not on subject but interesting to my geek side.

I have been testing chanca piedra usage for about a month and ran upon link with a post from Ted from Thailand and Bill from the Philippines

archive.constantcontact.com/fs020/1101631005260/archive/1104670902258.html

Bill talks about chanca piedra at the bottom of the link. Before that is Ted talking WOE's when fighting the Big "C"

Ted's info on cell voltage was not the first time I had seen that kind of data but it was the first time it kind of clicked.

1. Cancer cells register -15 millivolts on the ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) scale
2. Healing cells register -50 millivolts
3. Healthy cells register from -70 to -100 millivolts.

I found Ted's last paragraph info to be very interesting and helpful understanding Eastern medical views.

Again I like random medical thoughts from any source because sometimes patterns appear. East and West medical views are very different but we are talking about the same human body.

That's definitely interesting. I'd have to focus on it more to make it all the way through to the end. I think my eyes started crossing somewhere in there.

I know what you mean Twibbly. It is strange what you can find on the tenth page of links found using Google. What got me started was assuming I was going to get cancer from taking Enbrel for pain manage. After I beat the pain with my current macro and dodge the Enbrel bullet I have gone on to test some protocols on myself and do parts of different protocols for prevent. The voltage thing I want to drill down on at some point. At least now I have no fear of cancer for myself based on what I have learned and what I do but have family members at concern. Now that is not to say I am not at risk but if it happens I know I am doing all that I know to do to prevent it.

Chanca Piedra is new to me because I missed it somehow until about a month ago. I am interested in removing some calcium out of my of my ligaments. The high dosage of Vitamins D3 and K2 have helped some over the past year it seems perhaps.

Has anyone had a low carb experience like this guy is describing? I think I may just say sorry it did not work out but i would like to raise a question if he was doing LCHF or LCLF? This is not on a health related forum be the way and his results are 180 from mine.

"Gale glad low carb worked for you. It didn't work for me but we are all genetically different. My low carb experiment caused my LDL to go from 120 to 270 and it stayed there until I started eating carbs and sugar again. I also had no energy and couldnt do stair climbing or resistance exercises.

But I think we all tolerate carbs differently and if it's working for you, keep going.

One thing about LDL is that while it may not "cause" heart disease, elevated levels should not be ignored either because it may indicate other problems. The most common issue for low carbers are increased cortisol and downgraded thyroid functioning. So if your doctor tries to put you on statins, try to get your thyroid functioning checked out first before doing that."

I thought this fit the name of this thread. :)

On a serious note I think this group may make valid points but may turn off many to any message on looking for a new WOE.

That all sounds kinda crazy, but who am I to judge! I'm only eating animal products when all I will find all day long, everywhere I look for healthy diet info, would tell me that I can't live without vegetables and bread.

One of the things about cholesterol that I took away from Dr. Fung's video on it was that LDL has 2 components, and that there is a fluffy kind of LDL that is beneficial, sort of like HDL's function. These two types of cholesterol seem to actually open the clogs previously formed by damaging VLDL. I hesitate to post the link because the video is over an hour long, but it's on youtube.

Gale, about the person who thinks he needs carbs... I totally recognize that I have a white carb allergy. If I have a single bit of potato or pasta, I crave more and more, swell up with water weight and feel like napping all the time. I have only been doing the WOE (again) for 5 full days and I have lost 11 lbs of water weight and my FBG is down 72 points.

@kmn118 that is awesome news on your FBG levels. There are others here that will help you in the keto adapting process. My adapting was hard but I was 63 at the time and in a very weak state of health. I think you have things going your way. Because my pain dropped from around 7-8 to 2-3 by going off sugar and all forms of grains in just 30 days I know they had to be bad in my personal case.

Thank you for your encouragement, Gale :) I have a very long road ahead and this WOE is going to save my life.

It was my hunch that if I would get off of sugar and all grains that accidently got me into nutritional ketosis before I found MFP and even understood the term. Being old I guess makes hunches more likely perhaps. :)

I think you can see this without having to log in. If so check out post #102 by EricTheOracle about diabetes with some charts about Insulin and Fatty acid levels and conversion table . His write up was interesting too.
