Gotta stretch it out

I need to Google some simple stretching exercises, then actually do them. Last few months I seem to have very sore hips when sitting or laying on the ground for longer than 5 minutes.
Tonight was a perfect example.
Sitting on my garage floor working on my motorcycle. One leg stretched out under it, one bent in front of me. Sat like that for about 20 minutes. Felt fine, but a little stiff.
Tried to stand, couldn't. Hobbled and grasped at wall studs like a partly disabled 90 year old man until I was finally upright (as close as I could get). Could barely walk for another minute.
Total time from sitting to walking normal was at least 4 minutes. Pathetic. I may be "getting old" but I ain't old so this *kitten* needs fixing.
Off to the Google.

Let me know what you find. I haven't been able to sit like that since the knee surgery. (Or sit in an airliner coach seat without stretching the leg out into the aisle which the flight attendants frown on.)0

I've just started lifting again and in the process of doing some research I came across this guy who has his own exercise program. Big whoop, there are tons of them. I'm not advocating his exercise program, I haven't purchased it so I have no idea what it is or how effective it is.
What he also has on his website is a ton of videos going over every muscle group. Just a ridiculous amount of videos. The information he provides is probably the best I've ever seen and I've read a ton of this kind of stuff.
He explains the mechanics of each motion and exercise, he explains which exercises to avoid, and how to modify some of them to prevent you from injuring yourself. Each time he does this, he backs it up with examples. Either the skeleton replica with attached muscles, or by drawing all over himself with a sharpie (which is kind of funny). As he breaks it down and explains it you can see exactly what he is talking about and you understand why some of the things he is saying to change make an immense amount of sense.
Just google athleanx and go to the videos section. I really can't advocate for this dude enough. Finding his videos was the same kind of ah-ha moment that I had when I found the guy with a ton of math tutoring videos that got me through calculus.0 -
I discovered the foam roller after I had this horrendous spasm/strain in my right hip (on the side) from running. I learned all about muscle adhesion's that cause so much trouble. The roller has really helped me with hip and calf stiffness and cramping. That combined with stretching of all kinds works. Getting old but fighting it all the way!0

I keep seeing foam rollers mentioned. At some point I'm going to have to give them a try.0
