@k80flec congratulations on your race! And never say never on the marathons, I said that too a few years ago! :)

@anaconda I'm sorry those other cyclists aren't very welcoming. :( I agree, there's got to be some other nice people in other groups (or currently riding alone) somewhere!

@k80flec and @clepant - I was surprised reading both your ages, but not at all the work you put into being fit and how well you do it. I'm 52 and it's great to see others out there.

@anaconda469 :disappointed: Those people are idiots. My cycling experience consists of the one class a week I take, but I can see how much of a community it is with those who are also out on the road. I hope you find others who aren't such a$$3s, but from what I've read in your posts all this time, you do an incredible job on your own.

    4.4 mile walk.

Okay, I just went back and read my post - I don't know where "kitten3s" came from, I used the word in the title of this group lol. That's a weird autocorrect if I ever saw one.

So the latest thing around here is people watching you bring or pick up your bikes from the cycle shops and they snatch them as you are going in or as you are leaving. They are getting $3,000 bikes this way. Now I not only have to hang on to my purse but my bike too. Next they will be knocking people off of them and snatching them.

CONGRATS on making your GOAL, KITTEN, I mean KAREN!! And you were saying something about your recent wildlife spottings and turtle-assisting and it reminded me that I saw my first turtles of the season last Thursday. I counted 29 out sunning themselves on the various logs and rocks in the pond behind my work. Then on Friday there were 42! My favorite number. They were everywhere. One tiny log had 8 or 9 of them piled practically on top of each other. It was funny. :)

what a crazy day! I shut off my alarm at 4 a.m. & fell back to sleep, woke up at 6. I usually hit the road at the time. It is a good thing I always prep the night before so I was only 15 minutes late. Needless to say I did not do the ex bike before work but I did after work while waiting for my neighbor to get home so we could walk. Bike = 17 & we walked 4. So 21 total.

I ride alone, usually a runner but recovering from a knee injury. Always used to run alone and would be way too scared to join a cycling group. I'm 64 and sure I would be too slow!

Thank you all for your support and encouragement. I shall take it steady and develop my strength and stamina. I run with a group of young women half my age, and it's a wonderful challenge!!

Well, I have fallen behind, as there were a couple days I was planning to spin, but for whatever reason, couldn't get to the gym. Since I last updated, I have walked 1.7 miles and rode 13.8 on the bike.

That brings my total for the month to 49.6. Not in the green, but maybe (if I ride hard on Friday), I'll be able to catch up. Maybe!!
