    21.5/40 Still.. survived a horrible cold now back at it. I walked around the property last night picking mushrooms. I am going to claim a mile since felt like it. We have 10 acres and I covered the whole property going in circles. Taking a walk before dinner tonight though. Hoping for 4 nice big miles.

    I just joined myfitnesspal and found this group. Yahoo! I am going to set my goal at a mile a day for the remainder of this month. This will help me to get back in the groove. Today I did 1 mile Interval Walk. Really got the old ticker pumping and it is one of my new favorites. Have a great day!

    Earlier this week I texted a friend saying the lilacs are blooming and that we should go to our local garden area to visit. She agreed and it was left that she'd let me know when she was available (because of varied days and shifts off in her retail job).
    So this AM, just before 8, she texted wondering if going today was too short notice. I said no, it was fine, and asked what time was good, and she said 10. So then I had to scramble to get showered and dressed etc, plus I had to do a couple of errands (like get gas) that I had procrastinated on.
    It wasn't until I was about ready to leave that I realized that I am on intermittent fasting, so I don't eat until noon, and wondered if this might affect it. I threw in a couple of yogurts, plus water.

    Anyway, the lilac garden is attached to hiking trails, and so we kept going, and in the end we put in 5 miles hiking! That was up and down many inclines, some quite steep. All while still fasting. I tell you, I was out of shape. Some times huffing and puffing, and in the end I started to get a lot of back pain, but we did it. My step count right now reads 12440, and I don't think it has ever been this high! I normally don't do over 5000. I feel totally pooped, but I am so glad that we went - did me a world of good. Back pain was relieved by Tylenol, and hopefully I will be back to normal by tomorrow.

    Had the yogurt when we got back to the car - then came back to my place where we cooked a very late lunch. What a good day!

    So, with that 5 miles, I am now at 39 miles, with a goal of 40.

    Omg you girls are killing me with all the walking you get done. Figuratively speaking. I truly am happy for all those that get exercise in. I don't always, just laziness. PS I am writing this for me because I used to be active. This is my diary. I can always go back to reflect.

    Be safe up there Lilymay-I've been reading about Fort McMurray and noticed you are a little southeast-scary things wild fires. I have a house in the Adirondack Mountains of NY and wild fires are a constant worry there. Take care! :worried:
