Hey guys, I just started the stronglifts 5x5 program and I have a question. Right now the app has me doing a single deadlift, but the weight is WAY too low. Is there any downside to doing the 5 sets of five on dls until I figure out my one rep max?

Follow the program, especially if you have never lifted. The weights will get heavy soon enough. use the time that its light to really concentrate on your form. Always lift like its heavy, keep correct form and bracing. Then you won't pop a vertebrate once it really does get heavy.0

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it wants you to do one set of five. I'm using the app too and thought "wtf just one rep?" But then I looked at it closer and it wanted one set of five reps.0

Yup Id agree - if you have just started, its 1x5 deadlifts and 5x5 everything else0
