Anyone played with liquid diets at all? Either soylent, shakeology, velocity, or a homemade version?

Seems a low carb version would just be protein powder + oil + vitamins?

Gosh, that sums up 80% of my waking adult life.

(Sorry, the propulsion to confess was too strong to resist... )

I tried shakeology at breakfast a few years ago. I enjoyed it but never ordered it because it is waaaay overpriced. Real food seems to keep my hunger at bay much better anyway!

I don't think I could do a liquid diet...maybe I should attempt it when my kiddo goes back to school for a few days to challenge myself.
    Thanks for posting this. :)

I think I'm going to try my Primal Fuel as a liquid diet today. I've eaten so much the last few days from the Brazilian steakhouse on my anniversary and then my daughters graduation party that left too many burger patties that I couldn't stop nibbling on all day yesterday!
You know you ate too much when you wake up feeling stuffed from the day before!

I did the Optifast diet in the late '80s and the Medifast diet in the early 2000s. Lost bunches on both, but they're not sustainable and "refeeding" doesn't work. You end up ruining your metabolism and gaining back the weight. I am using Atkins shakes now, simply because I like the nutrition, convenience and taste. Still, not going back to liquid diets, except maybe bone broth during a fast. :)

I don't care for them for long term, you don't learn much by just making a protein drink for every meal. Cooking meals forces me to learn how to cook and gives me a greater variety of meals, and the fiber from that keeps me full. Every now and then for a fast breakfast or dinner of course would be fine.

Today I am absolutely committed to only having coffee and the Primal Fuel powder. So far, I've had 1 regular coffee with a little HWC and a second coffee for "lunch" made with only 1 scoop of powder because I am literally not hungry from how much I've eaten the last few days! Lol
But I do want to consume protein, fats and some calories today. It's 4pm and I sit here feeling like I ate a full lunch. It's really ridiculous how much I ate this past weekend you guys! You have no idea!
Friday (my anniversary)- Brazillian Steakhouse AND a late night stop at Americano Burger Bar for a burger topped with bacon and fried egg!
Saturday (my birthday)- too stuffed, had coffee with HWC, and some pepperoni and cheese late that night.
Sunday (daughters graduation party)- I ate 3, 1/3 lb. burgers over the course of the day, a sausage, bunch of cheese and some strawberries and raspberries.
Monday- had my morning coffee with HWC, ate 2 leftover burgers and some berries and cheese.
Today, I am not even the slightest bit hungry but I still want to eat that last burger in the fridge! Why!?!? Not doing it!
Anyway, I think I needed the suggestion of a liquid diet to get past the last few days!
