Gonna start the new weekly thread today.

Weather has been a bit up and down today. My walk around lunch time got cut short as a thunderstorm came in. The weather cleared up around 17h so I went out again. Makes for 2.5h of nordic walking today and 1.5h yesterday. :)

My exercise time has increased the last two weeks even if it's 'only' brisk walking atm. But I feel better getting out there 4-5 times per week. Might ride my bike to work tomorrow depending on the weather. It's been very unstable lately and I don't bike in the rain.

My eating on non fast days is better (not perfect) since I started logging again and my fast days are also a bit better. My weight hasn't budged, but I feel better just looking after myself more again. The weight will follow.

I've been treating myself with more varied and healthy breakfasts, like I did at the beginning of my 5:2 journey. That makes weekends a bit special. Today I made banana/egg pancakes with fresh strawberries....yum and so easy. I also rediscovered fruit and cottage cheese. Dinner yesterday was steak, oven roasted asparagus and baby potatoes for less than 400cals. I guess sometimes you just get stuck in a rut and forget all the good stuff that don't 'cost' alot but are very yummy and satifiying for a foodie like me. I am thankful for all of those lovely 'fruits' of spring and early summer <3

So off we go into another week! Hope it proves to be everything you want it to be!

Hi everyone! Thanks Flumi!! I had a couple days where I ate below maintainence but not a true fd and I really gotta stop that. I also forgot to record a few walks on the app I use, so even though my phone records the steps, I felt it didn't count... And again this morning that happened too, not thinking! I've continue to measure my waist and am 29 1/2" now and 28 1/2 if I pull the tape tighter!! :# ...my daughter has announced I'm skinny but when sitting I can still grab a quite a few flabby inches!! I'm enjoying working out and see quite a difference in my arms and legs from the weight training so if the heat wave were in here doesn't kill me, I'll continue with the weights!! (Okay it's not hot like some places the rest of the world deals with, but I don't like it above 24C!! And it's 27!!! Ahhhhh!!)

Also, Flumi if you ever try that bouncing jumping class I WANT TO SEE A VIDEO!! Omg that looks hilarious!!!!!! (Probs an awesome workout). I've never seen or heard of this before!! :D

    Cheers peeps!

No cheating with the measurements, Mama!! :p But 29' is awesome!! Gotta ask my friend, if she went to try out those shoes last week ;) I think, it's probably great fun unless of course I fall over laughing :p

First fast this week...ended around 800 but also did 20k on my bike, so netted around 500. I know...not official, but good enough for today: I also weighed in this morning at the same weight as last Friday after my last fast. Very strange. Normally I gain 1-3lb of water weight over the weekend. Wondering what the scale will say tomorrow....

I am NOT having a good week! And I have thrown fasting and eating well right out the window. Going to try to get in one real fast day tomorrow.
I am coming up on one full year of 5:2. I did it before that, but not consistently. It may not sound like much, but I am 5 pounds down from my starting weight. That is a success. I was on a serious upward track before. When I get to one full year, I will post my official stats.

Hang in there, Kate!! Sometimes, you have to take a break. As long as you come back, you'll be ok. The last thing you want to do is see it as a catastrophic failure and undo all of your efforts. As you said, you are down 5 lbs and that is definitely an accomplishment. Heck, staying the same weight is an accomplishment. I have not been tracking this week. I have been sticking to fasting, but I go through periods where I'm really good about tracking. Other times not so much. I've been doing some form of tracking for what seems like my whole life and sometimes I just don't want to do it (cue temper tantrum). Sat through Thursday will be busy with ballet rehearsals ending with my performance Thursday night. It's become a favorite time of the year and a great way to usher in the summer!!

BTW, CNN (not the greatest news agency) had an online article about intermittent fasting that was pretty positive. I did not know jimmy kimmel lost weight on the 5:2!

Down 5 lbs is a win in my book! Hope your day is going better today!

Believe me I've been doing this for 3 yrs, with ups and downs. The last year has been very difficult due to lots of stuff going on and a few emotional ups and downs. My weight reflects that, up 4-5kg from my stable low of 57-58kg. I kept getting remotivated and then selfsabotaging myself. No one to blame but myself, mindset and lack of discipline.

I restarted logging non fast days more honestly a few weeks ago and in general my mind is in a better place. The decision to take better care of myself again seems to have started to sink in again, but it was a bumpy ride getting back to that place. Had one of my best fast days today food, cal and feeling wise. It's been a looonnngg time, that I found a fast day 'easy enough'.

Anyway, just saying Katie, you're human and bumps in the road to greatness are totally normal. Smile and wave B) or as I read again as of late...fake it 'til you make it. The best way to trick your mind and body into doing what you want it to do and feel like.

Ladies I think you are all awesome. The positivity that you give on this thread inspires. The effort that it takes to keep going even when things go awry is worth a gold star in my book.
Kate 5lb loss is brilliant so celebrate that success and smile at what you have achieved.
flumi over a 3 year period fluctuating 4-5 kg is a great success with so much going on in your life. You too should smile and pat yourself on the back and the distances you ride on your bike is incredible.
flossy good luck with the performance and sticking to fasting is great with all the rehearsals you have been doing.

Flumi you're my idol, if I'm still plugging along here 3 years from now With your same dedication I'll be one happy mama! All these fluctuations we're having, whether on the scale or in life, I'm learning to accept that each week can be so different....along with my attitude! Kate, I'm with you this week as I'm doing the same! :s Another great t-shirt phrase from Flumi this week.... "Bumps in the road to greatness are totally normal" love that!!! & Juliemoo you're positive encouragement is appreciated :* good luck Flossy with your rehearsals, exciting time for you... Is this the show where you wear the costume you were fitted for? Good luck! And I didn't know Jimmy kimmel had used 5:2, I knew he went gluten free....?

My confession for the day.... I have recently been a little addicted to these uncrystallized ginger (candies) pieces from the bulk dept at my grocery store... I've been mad about eating them yet of course still buy them! 3 or 4 here, 8 or 10 there, I know I shouldn't buy them as my gums are getting tender from them... Then yesterday after buying a big bag from the freshly stocked bin I promptly ate ALL of them last night!!! :s well this morning my lips were swollen!! And not in a good Angelina Jolie way, the insides of my cheeks hurt too!! I'm talking with a bit of a lisp as if I have a tongue ring (totally attractive) so, I think I've now finally cured my obsession for these little goodies once and for all!!! :/

Fast day#2 is in the can. Shi have 60 calories if I want them, but don't think I will. Had same dinner 2x - half can Progresso Tomato soup, 1 portion Kirkland Mahi, with 1 cup broccoli / cauliflower mix. Snipped fresh basil. over it and yum! I am keeping non-FD in check by not drinking alcohol and sticking to home prepared meals as much as possible. Weekends are still a challenge. I am going to make this one my best so that my doctor's appointment Monday shows all the weight loss I've worked on these past 6 months. I was really encouraged by my endocrinologist to use 5:2 and I want her to see my results.

Mama we need a picture of this ginger....... Oh but wait you don't have any left and we don't wish to encourage you to get more. All joking aside that sounds really painful so I think maybe it is time to take a break from your obsession.
Dry good luck with the doctors visit and they should be able to see the results.
