So weird not to be hungry

I'm on day 7 and am just amazed that I am not constantly craving eating. Normally it is all I can think about from I'm over morning to night. I actually haven't felt that true hunger in a while.
I'm over the worst of the shakiness and weird feeling I think and am making sure my salt and fat intake is staying up.
It is just weird not to be hungry....

It's a weird thing since we have starved to death with other ways of eating so many times! It becomes the norm very quickly! You will experience hungrier days, but they don't last. Hormone changes throughout the month will still affect this! So glad you are experiencing one of the wonderful side effects of this woe!2

My only problem is that I'm not motivated to cook. I've been eating mostly precooked meat, eggs, cheese and veggies, usually raw. I'm cooking for the kids but not eating the same stuff *kitten* them.I need to get motivated to cook, I'm just not sure what to make that my kids would like as well.2

IMHO the true beauty of this WOE is how easy it is to be compliant, certainly some here cook and generate recipes that are low carb. I began this journey in January and I'm very pleased that I don't have to weigh, measure, purchase special foods.
If there is a party, I just choose to eat what is available that is already low carb. In my household, I eat the veggies and the salad along with the meat. There is no reason to cook special foods unless one wishes to do so.
Because of extreme allergies, I never have any nuts or coconut but I am able to easily tolerate Grass Fed Kerry Gold butter and heavy cream.
My favorite breakfast is bacon, hard boiled egg yolks and a couple of slices of tomato. Those foods along with a cup of heavy tea are good for any meal.
If I'm at a restaurant, to replace the carbs ( potatoes or French fries, rice) ask for double serving of veggies and/or pickles.
The expression that comes to mind and works for me is KISS "keep it simple Sally".0 -
I think the *kittens* showed up where you were trying to put the word "as", and you may have added another s. Anyway, look for recipes that fit the family. The launch pad has many website listings to check out! You can always use the words "low carb" before any recipe, through Google (or your preferred search engine), and you will find all kinds of websites!
When I began this woe in April, 2015, my husband, and 19 year old son, didn't eat this way (though hubby has since joined me!). I cooked the meat portion, and would add a higher carb side for them. Or, I would make cauliflower mash into a mac and cheese (or loaded mashed potato type thing) replacement.
But, you don't have to force yourself to eat just because it's time to eat. These unhungry days will pass, and the days you are hungry will help with the deficit (it evens out in the long run).
I will say to be careful only eating precooked meats. I don't have any scientific evidence for you, but they are a "processed" type of food too. Fresh meat is better.
Good luck! Hugs!0 -

So, are we saying this unhungry feeling will go away and we'll start feeling hungry again?0

I am suddenly famished and then my hunger goes away. Go figure. Perhaps it's my blood sugar straightening itself out.0

@jakiepaper It comes and goes. One day you could not feel hungry and then the next, you can eat everything in sight.
It balances itself out as long as you listen to those signals your body is giving you properly.
I used to be a habitual eater - always eating something just for the sake of it.
Keto has helped me curb that with its high fat and I can go 8 hours without eating and by the end, I am not starving. It's more of an 'Oh, yeah I could go for some food' feeling.0 -
Good to hear. I've done this before, last year for 3 months then something happened and it snowballed into me gaining 20lbs. I'm back at it 10 days in and 8lbs down.1

Keep LCHF friendly foods around for those hungrier days. Cheese, pork skins, pickles, nuts (if you can handle them without eating too many!), sandwich meat wrapped around cheese.... Keeping these foods around will keep you satisfied on the hungrier days.
But yes, the hungrier days will come! They usually are way less frequent than the unhungry days are though! Hormone fluctuations are usually the reason for the hungrier days. Accept them for what they are when they hit, then move on when you make it to the other side!
The strength you're building now will help you maintain your macros on those days! Best to you!1 -
Day 8, and so far so good. I'm feeling my energy come back and am not getting the normal swings of low/high energy throughout the day. I'm not so pooped out at the end of the work day and am sleeping fine at night.
I'm interested to see how things continue, I know some people have reported an increase in overall well being.2
