Thank you!!!!! Seeing her dramatic change at the same weight has given me a shift in focus. Back to giving up the scale and just focusing on my macros and lifting. I don't go to a gym but I do have some dumbbells up to 20lbs , barbell up to 130lbs and a super high step for step ups. I've only been doing one or two days a week but I'm going to bump it up to 4. I am limited with what I have right now but I really hope to see some progress in my strength!!!!! Anyone else have results like this??? Can working at home get even close to those results?

It wasn't me, but I must agree with you that she is a great inspiration and proof that the scale does not tell the whole story! I workout at home and only had dbs that went up to 20#'s from Walmart, a swiss ball and a used barbell I got from Craig's list. That was over two years ago. Slowly I bought more equipment (nothing fancy, but hey, since I'm not paying a gym membership, I can invest a few bucks here and there - thanks Walmart for cheaper dbs and free delivery!).

More important than transforming my body, I kept up with it. As long as you keep challenging your body, fueling it right (protein and macros) and stay consistent, it can be done from home. I have some pics of my garage gym on Instagram, from the begging until now (with more stuff): fit_and_real_mom

Thanks. Following!!!! I'm always more encouraged seeing people's non fancy home gyms. I'm going to get a real bench soon and some heavier dumb bells!! Where is you get your rack?

Most of my equipment (the stuff I got new) is Cap Barbell. May not top of the line, but the price is decent and it works pretty well, I never had any issues with it. The Barbell rack came with the bench and I got it from Amazon. Walmart has the cheapest prices for dumbbells and ship free. My first olympic bar and plates came from Craig's list. Unless you can afford it, take your time and build it as you go. As you see that you are outgrowing your equipment, you upgrade it. Yard and garage sales are always a good place to check. I love my garage gym!

Hi, all of my workouts are done at home. I've slowly grown my equipment over the last 4 years. I've had pretty good and consistent body recomp results while eating at maintenance. Don't know if I weight the same as I don't use a scale, but I would guess I would be about the same. Body is just a very different shape now! Lifting for the win!
Have you seen the strength training workouts available on the website?

I have learned that consistency and periodisation with your workouts is important for body change and protein and protein and protein. And oh, did I mention protein? :)
You can totally do this at home! Lots of us here do. :)

It was me who shared that. I, too, was blown away with her results. I'm not sure that's how it will work for me but I think the main thing to remember is it takes a long time, probably years. So, be dedicated to doing the same things to improving your body: eat your calories, stay in your macros, lift, and make it a lifestyle. We won't win any transformation awards in the short term but we will in the low term- and eat more too. Lol

Yes to all of this!!!! I'm ready to get stronger. I found a comment I made on a lifting results success thread 2 years ago wanting to get stronger and of course I got sucked back into the eat less move more cycle. I am doing this!!! Lift, lift, lift!!!!!!

Wow! What incredible results! Great inspiration to stop the backsliding and horrible decision making process that has trapped me for so long! Right. Going to invest in a barbell and start from there. I will get the food part, too. I can do this. I will give myself time. I think I can, I think I can...

@clo747 , yes you can. Don't get overwhelmed by things, don't overcomplicate, keep it simple. Pick one thing at a time and keep doing it until you master it. Once it becomes second nature, pick another one a do the same thing. Instead of spinning your wheels chasing quicks fixes, in no time you will have accumulate enough habit changes that results will come and stay for life. Time will pass anyway, right?

Too right. Except, can I pick two things? lol I've invested in a cheapie barbell set with a view to upping my resistance workouts for the future. But I also want to work on getting lots more protein into my diet. I really struggle and I didn't realise how much I lean on carbs to get me through. I'm not a macros person (can't follow it all for shizz!), but its one thing I do think will be pretty important to my goals.

@clo747 Yay on the barbell! You can pick two things, that's not a problem. And as long as you nail your protein, carbs and fats will be ok. It was hard in the beginning for me because carb was a huge staple of my meals and snacks. Slowly I started adding more proteins and they crowded out the carbs. By tackling the protein and lifting at the same time, you are almost half way there in the steps to change!

They are 2 great things to focus on. I started with the cheapest barbell I could find with some vinyl plates and then added more plates as I got stronger.
Was better money wise that way for me too, just a little bit at a time.
And the protein is the other thing that will make a huge difference. I tried to ignore it for way too long!
Like Tereza said, if you can get the lifting and the protein consistent, you are half way there!
