Hi guys I am interested in this challenge. I thought it would be nice to know a little bit about you guys to see what we had in common. I am in school going for a BS in graphic design. I spend a lot of time at a computer not being very active. I am really trying to get in better shape because it will help me have more energy and set a good example for my hubby and my teenage daughter. I had back surgery a year or so ago and its been a struggle to find a good balance of exercise and stretches to help me feel normal and not be in constant pain.

Hey all! I'm Tiffany - 31 years old, happily married mom of four boys (13, 10, 7, & 7 months). I work in Accounting (desk job! ), so my biggest problem is getting my butt up and moving!
My start weight as of 12/23/2015 was 210 lbs. I'm currently at 179.4 and losing. My UGW is 135 lbs, but that is flexible to change as I get closer to goal.7 -
Hi! My name is Sarah, I'm 27 and also work a desk job which does not allow me to be very active throughout the day. I am currently 175lbs and am hoping to get down to about 130!
My biggest problems are lack of motivation and my love of cheese and anything sweet. I have been trying to incorporate more veggies into my diet and have been trying to have a salad at least once a day. I find it difficult to keep on track on the weekends but during the week I have been fairly consistent. I'm looking forward to reaching our goals together!6 -
Hi! My name is Kristen, I am 33 years old. I have a desk job as well. I am happily married with two kids 7 & 5. They LOVE pizza and so do I and that is what causes me trouble I have come to realize that I need to move more and be more active! I never had a weight problem until I started working in an office. All other jobs I was up moving the whole 8 hour shift. I think that with a combination of eating out all the time is the cause of weight gain! I am determined to get this weight off. My goal is 135 but I will see as I lose where I feel comfortable at!5

Hi girls, I call you that because i'm the "old" lady in the group haha. I like the idea of joining a group (i'm new to myfp) that is small and your goal is very reasonable. I had Lyme disease 20 yrs. ago, undiagnosed for 6 mo. left me w/ a lot of health problems. I am not able to work but from home, am a longarm quilter. I am up and down a lot during day, but would also like to get in 10,000 steps a day,eat healthier. We can do this, smiley:

Hi, my name is Sally, I am 42 years old. I also have a desk job therefore I'm not very active, but trying to overcome that. I currently weigh 193lbs & have a goal of 180lbs. It seems like a small amount to lose but I have a hard time losing weight and my husband is not interested in dieting with me, therefore I'm setting my 1st goal small. Once I achieve that I'll set another goal to reach. My husband & I just recently bought bicycles so hopefully I'll be able to get some activity in. I used MFP a few years ago & was able to lose about 10 lbs so I'm optimistic. I've since gained that back so I'm hoping to be able to lose it again plus more. I'm hoping the ladies in this group can help motivate me to move in the right direction. Good luck all!!5

Hi my name is Cherie, I am 28 years old with 5 kids. A year ago I had a pulmonary embolism and two strokes due to blood mutations that causes my blood to clot and 11 days ago I went through a hysterectomy my starting weight was 213 lbs and am now at 142lbs my goal weight is 120lbs even though I have been going through all of this I have still managed to push myself through to try and make myself as healthy as possible its definitely been a tough road for me but I keep going and push myself through. So lets do this!!!!!!!! :-)7

My name is Jessica.
I'm currently going to school for biochemistry! So I'm sitting and studying a lot!
I use to cook for a living went to school for it and everything, however some things happened and I had to stop. I got a WAY less active job basically sitting all day(double amount of sitting now with school). You can imagine how that change might of been a reason for all my weight gain, combine that with unhealthy life choices and here I am.
I use to be reasonable healthy and extremly active, I would go for jogs 5 times a week. I would really like to get back to that or atleast be active again. I have to do this!6 -
Hi all, my name is Paul. I work in software development and sit at my desk most of the day. I love being active and want to get back into shape so I can enjoy more of life. I'm 205 now and have a goal weight of 170. Besides the weight, I want to adopt a healthy lifestyle. I need to keep my cheat meals in check while having some flexibility to enjoy tasty things.6

My name is Brittany. I am 24 years old. I have been a home health aid for almost 4 years now. I will be graduating next month with a Bachelor's in Health Services Administration. I joined MFP a couple years ago but I wasn't consistent with logging in. This time I have a made a commitment to reach by goal weight of 150 lbs. I eliminated soda months ago so that was one goal that I accomplished . I would like to incorporate jogging in my workout routine, strength training, and cardio. In addition, I want to include more healthy foods in my diet. Good luck everyone!4

My name is Jenn. I'm 39 and married with 4 kids (16, 16, 11, 9). This might sound weird but I had cancer three years ago and it was the healthiest I've been in my life. Because of what I knew about nutrition (cofounder of a holistic nutrition business) and immunity I chose to piss my doctors off and combat w nutrition rather than chemo and radiation. I only ate the most pristine of foods and never ate sugar, wheat, or dairy. Never. In fact, I looked at these items as poisonous. How I wish I could have that mentality again. Plus I was off work and school so did daily yoga and meditation. Anyway, fast forward to now. Clean bill of health but at least 30 pounds overweight. I am a psychologist and work at a hospital with adolescent outpatients and their families. I work 40 hrs a week which I strongly believe is too much! Also I feel quite drained after work and definitely comfort myself with food. I played soccer competitively my whole life and had to retire in October due to too many concussions6

Hey guys! I'm Katherine. I lost over 62 pounds with MFP over 1 1/2 years. However, I got pregnant midway through my journey. I'm currently up 27 pounds from my prepregnancy low and want to lose an additional 54-64 pounds beyond that to get to a healthy weight.
My ultimate goal is to lose the 80-90 pounds over the next 3 years, which would put me at a healthy BMI. That's a little less than 1/2 a pound on average per week, as I know the weight will come off fastest early on and then slow down later.
I'm hoping that the tools I developed the last time around will make the process smoother this time.
Looking forward to the next 6 months of tracking with you guys!6 -
Hi! I am Trisha, I have never lost weight with MFP but I have never really focused and given it a shot. I work in the legal industry and have a desk job. I am a new mom and find little time to do much of anything and I eat too sporadically. I am glad I found this group and will try to support everyone in their goals while I work on mine!5

Hi there. I have lost 107 pounds since fall eating clean nutrition calorie counting and exercising. I am at my lowest weight in ten years (248) and hope to achieve 199 by the end of the year.3
-
Hi my name is Phillip and I am 46. I work in finance and sit at a desk all day. I am not very active until now. I am at 248 and looking to get the 30 and more;). I have started off very motivated and look to stay that way through accountability and teamwork. I run in the morning and lift weights in the evening. I am trying not to burn myself out and go back to doing nothing. I see my wife and daughter hitting that p90x but the dam thing nearly killed me. Going at my own pace but moving. I just got me a fit bit and I am hitting my 10k regularly now. Hope this group keeps me in the zone.5

Hello! I'm Erin, I'm 34, mommy of one 5-year-old little girl. Like what seems to be just about everyone else here, I have a desk job - editor and graphic artist. I've been overweight pretty much my whole life - my dad died when I was a kid, my mom turned to alcohol, and I learned to turn to food for comfort. I spent WASTED a lot of my earlier years hating myself and believing what others said about me. Glad to say I've shaken that, even if I haven't shed the weight yet!
This isn't my first rodeo, but I'm aiming to make it my last. I have roughly 75 pounds that I'd like to let go. The difference this time vs. every other time, I think, is my perspective. This time my health and how I feel are my priorities; what the scale says, what size I wear, and how I look are bonuses! I'm working to make small changes so I will stick with them over time, rather than jump in with both feet like every other unsuccessful time. I have a little girl that's watching my every move and following my lead, and she is my main motivation for everything I do.
Looking forward to sharing success with all of you!5 -
hi I'm Vrinda, I'm 36, mommy of two girls (7 and 3). I have been on and off MFP and had been losing and gaining back the weight. I really need to be determined this time. I need to work hard on correcting my eating habits.4

Hi, I'm Lezlee. I'm in my 50's and the only babies around me are Grandbabies or fur-babies. I work from home 4 days a week, have a 2 hour commute to the office on the 5th day then work retail on the weekends. I used to think the 20 hours of on my feet with movement would keep me in shape but the weight snuck on. 5 years ago I hit 200 lbs, got down to 124 & back up to 150. My ultimate goal is around 120.2

I am needing accountability for staying on tract. I just found this group last week. I am 63, happily married to my best friend for 44 years. I have gradually gained weight about 30 pounds the last 24 years.
I lost 24 pounds about 4 years ago, but this last year it has come back. I believe I am an emotional eater.
I have discovered an exercise program that I feel I can stick to doing. Classical Stretch is on PBS, and I have some DVDs of the program.
I walk 6 days a week for 30 minutes with my mother-in-law.
I have a machine quilting business in my home, so my work is up and down.
I love My Fitness Pal app. It makes tracking your calories and exercise so easy.
I know this is not Friday, but since I am starting today I will post my weight and goal.

Thank you all for being there, and keep going one day at a time!3 -
Hey there my name is Julie and I would love to join in! I just turned 40 and have struggled with my weight and body perception most my life. I want to be happy and healthy no matter my weight, but know 30 pounds less would help me feel so much better. I also want to set healthy examples to those around me. Being more consistent and active are the things I need to work on. I could use all the support I can get.4

Hi all. I just joined this challenge.
My name is Valerie. I am a 42-year old RN but not in a hospital so my job isn't overly active. I did get an activity tracker in December and have increased my steps to about 10,000/day. I enjoy activities like rockclimbing, hiking, and cycling but my enjoyment of these activities has been lessened because of my weight. I am currently in grad school which is my biggest obstacle to being as active as I would like. I did start heavy lifting about a year ago which I am enjoying.
Thanks for getting this started.3 -
Hi folks, I just joined too. This sounds like a doable goal.
My name is Kenny. I am 41 and disabled so I don't have the desk job holding me back. I have battled my weight most all the time I have been disabled. My meds cause weight gain. Some worse than others. Lately I have been 220-230 but have been as high as 270. Yesterday I got on the scale I had gained 10 pounds to 230. So here I am looking for anything and everything to get me going and keep me going. 200 here I come!3 -
Hello! I am a SAHM to a 13 and 10 year old. The last few years I have let my fitness go and have gained weight. I finally decided enough is enough two weeks ago and started back on MFP. So excited to be here!3
-
I too am a little late to the party. It looks like this is a pretty diverse group with the same goal in mind. A little about me: I am a 58 year old grandma. I work 5 days a week on my feet but have a tendency to set on my keester in front of the computer after work and snack on all the wrong things. I've lost about 10 pounds over the last year thanks to the new diabetic med my doctor put me on. I've actually felt good enough to float the river with the grands a couple of times this Summer. It was such an eye opener to hear the oohhh and ahhhhh because they couldn't remember me EVER going. How sad is that. I want to make memories with them. I don't want all their memories to center around me sitting in a chair in front of the computer. I want to make memories with and for them. 30 pounds would put me at a good weight.......lets do this.2

Hi!
My name is Josh, I'm 27 and work in Business Intelligence (Desk Job).
Last year I got my weight down to 135lb, but with the stresses of buying a house etc I found myself drinking more and my eating habits slipped again. Over the course of 8 months I've now found my self near my original weight, my clothes have started not fitting so I've decided its a time for a change!
I found groups and community helped me lose my weight last time so thought I'd join here too!
I've created a new profile for a fresh start with a fresh state of mind no more looking back just looking forward!
